Essentials:

  • Strong understanding of project management methodologies and their application in project control.
  • Commitment to maintaining high standards and ensuring project control processes meet defined quality criteria.
  • Experience in reviewing existing processes, identifying areas for improvement, and implementing changes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Proficiency in using project management software and tools for tracking, reporting, and collaboration.
  • Proficiency in collecting, analysing, and interpreting project data, with the ability to present insights clearly and concisely in reports and dashboards.
  • Familiarity with data visualisation techniques and tools to present information effectively, with excellent attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to take existing reports and tailor to different audiences (e.g. senior stakeholders, project managers, team members).
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships and collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Flexibility to adjust to changing priorities and work effectively in a dynamic environment.
  • Ability to work independently, take initiative, and drive improvements.

Desirable:

  • A strong understanding of Agile principles and methodologies, with practical experience of embedding them within project delivery environments.
  • Experience using ServiceNow as a strategic portfolio management (SPM) tool.
  • Ability to use Power BI to create interactive dashboards and reports.
  • Proficient in leveraging SharePoint for document management, collaborative work practices, and knowledge sharing.
  • Skilled in automating processes using Power Automate alongside building custom solutions and applications using Power Apps.
  • Experience working with offshore colleagues.

Responsibilities:

  • Calculating and tracking key project metrics and SLAs (e.g. schedule, budget, scope, risks, issues, resources) using appropriate tools and techniques, and delivering regular Portfolio reporting for business stakeholders. This includes producing the weekly Portfolio Watchlist report, distilling the information to produce a summary suitable for senior stakeholders, and preparing the materials for the monthly Service Review.
  • Implementing and managing project control processes, procedures, and templates aligned with industry best practices and Deloitte standards. This also includes routine project baselining and quality checks.
  • Proactively managing the review of all guidance, templates and content that PMO provide. This includes collaborating with relevant owners to ensure timely revisions and ongoing suitability for evolving project needs or compliance obligations.
  • Provide delivery insights for Director of Portfolio Delivery based on metrics data - understand what the data means and communicate findings to enable decision making and focused improvement actions.
  • Leading the collection, analysis and reporting of customer feedback to identify areas for improvement in project delivery.
  • Ensuring project benefits are recorded and tracked through the project lifecycle. Providing benefits summaries and supporting business stakeholders in tracking benefits delivery.
  • Working closely with the wider PMO team, project delivery team and other stakeholders to ensure effective project control and reporting. Holding team members to account for process adherence and delivering quality.
  • Identifying and implementing opportunities to streamline project control processes and enhance efficiency
