Description:

HOW YOU CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE:

UNFPA is the lead UN agency for delivering a world where every pregnancy is wanted, every childbirth is safe and every young person’s potential is fulfilled. UNFPA’s strategic plan (2022-2025), reaffirms the relevance of the current strategic direction of UNFPA and focuses on three transformative results: to end preventable maternal deaths; end unmet need for family planning; and end gender-based violence and harmful practices. These results capture our strategic commitments on accelerating progress towards realizing the ICPD and SDGs in the Decade of Action leading up to 2030. Our strategic plan calls upon UN Member States, organizations and individuals to “build forward better”, while addressing the negative impacts of the Covid-19 pandemic on women’s and girls’ access to sexual and reproductive health and reproductive rights, recover lost gains and realize our goals.
In a world where fundamental human rights are at risk, we need principled and ethical staff, who embody these international norms and standards, and who will defend them courageously and with full conviction.
UNFPA is seeking candidates that transform, inspire and deliver high impact and sustained results; we need staff who are transparent, exceptional in how they manage the resources entrusted to them and who commit to deliver excellence in programme results.

JOB PURPOSE:

Indonesia is working towards a future where women and young people have equal opportunities and are free from violence. To tackle existing challenges with gender inequality and violence, a new program called BERANI Phase II (Better Reproductive Health and Rights for All) has been launched.

This important program is a collaboration between several key players:

  • UNFPA, UNICEF, and UN Women: These United Nations agencies bring their expertise in health, children’s rights, and gender equality.
  • The Government of Indonesia: They are committed to improving the lives of women and young people.
  • Global Affairs Canada: They are providing valuable support for the program.

BERANI Phase II’s Goals:

  • Improve access to quality healthcare: This includes sexual and reproductive health services, with a focus on addressing violence against women.
  • Empower individuals and communities: BERANI aims to equip people with the knowledge and confidence to make healthy choices and fight against harmful practices.
  • Strengthen government policies: The program works with the government to create laws that protect and support the SRH of all women and girls in Indonesia.

The Program Runs From August 2023 to December 2027.
As the administrative agency, UNFPA plays a crucial role in coordinating all the activities and ensuring everything runs smoothly. They work closely with all partners involved to achieve BERANI’s goals.

The Project Coordinator Analyst plays a vital role in keeping BERANI’s projects running successfully. They do this by:

  • Tracking progress: Monitoring how projects are doing and making adjustments when needed to keep them moving forward.
  • Building relationships: Working collaboratively with all partners, including the government, implementing organizations, and donors, to foster positive working relationships.

By working together, BERANI Phase II aims to create a lasting positive impact for women and young people in Indonesia.

The Project Coordinator Analyst plays a central role in ensuring the successful implementation of the BERANI Phase II Programme for the benefit of all participating UN organizations (PUNOs) – UNFPA, UNICEF, and UN Women. You will work closely with the Programme Analyst for Youth and ASRH and HIV at UNFPA CO and the PUNO technical team to coordinate and track program progress. To achieve this, you will:

  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the program, ensuring alignment with the established guidelines of UNFPA, UNICEF, and UN Women.
  • Collaborate with implementing partners to guarantee activities are delivered on time and within budget
