ABOUT YOU

Are you an analytical thinker who would describe themselves as more technically minded? Do you know you have a firm grasp of Microsoft excel combined with the points mentioned below? Are you seeking to peruse a long lasting and exciting career in Project Management on one of the defence forces most complex assets?

We are seeking applicants with tertiary qualifications in a technical or project management discipline. Or you may even have equivalent experience in heavy asset maintenance, engineering, naval construction or complex asset management / development environment.

  • Demonstrable high-level verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrate advanced level skills in Microsoft Office Suite and Data analysis.
  • Demonstrable practical knowledge of Scheduling, Earned Value Management, financial, stakeholder and personnel management as applicable to a complex project environment.
  • Diploma or higher qualifications in Project Management (Desirable).
  • Tertiary or trade qualification in Engineering, Technology or Sciences (Highly Desirable).
  • Membership of the AIPM or equivalent (Desirable).
  • International Traffic in Arms (ITAR) Regulations (Desirable).
  • Two to five years’ experience in a similar project environment. Preferably in the Defence industry (Desirable).

Responsibilities:

  • Participates in the development of project plans that satisfy ASC objectives of safety and cost effectiveness.
  • Daily liaison with ASC functional departments and capabilities such as Engineering, Quality, Planning, Production, Supply Chain, PMO, People & Culture, Commercial, Procurement and Finance.
  • Coordinates generation of fit-for-purpose scopes of work then delivers work package in accordance with contractual requirements.
  • Identifies risks and supports risk management activities throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Preparation and collation of reports in accordance with project requirements and coordinate weekly, monthly and quarterly project reviews.
  • Monitor the performance of the project and analyse variances to develop and implement corrective action where necessary to ensure the project remains on track.
  • Maintain work scope readiness including material availability, Engineering and Planning products while flagging issues to the Project Manager
  • Requirement to board submarines during maintenance activities alongside or docked.
