About the role
Balfour Beatty have a fantastic opportunity for a Project Coordinator to join the power T&D team
To Report to the Head of Operations and assists primarily with aiding the project
management lifecycle process within the Gated Business Lifecycle. Coordinates a
standard and consistent approach to the delivery of projects on time, to cost and
quality.
Supports improvements in project management processes, project reporting and set
up assistance during; initiation, planning, design, delivery, monitoring, commissioning
and handover/close out
The location for this role will be working from Westhill office and to support Scotland – more North East.

What you’ll be doing

  • Attend periodic project reviews (PRM) and update the Digital Briefcase in

accordance with GBL

  • Assists to maintain accurate project records (progress, daily diaries etc.)
  • Prepare both internal/external reports and liaise with stakeholders.
  • Assist and provide minutes for meetings as requested by the Project Manager
  • Execute project management administrative tasks, prepare and manage project

management documents, such as the project plan, SHESQ documentation,

schedule or scope statement, as directed by the project manager.

  • Support the Project Manager with administration of contract management

software to raise and track contractual correspondence such as Early Warning

Notifications and Compensation Events.

  • Support the H&S Management portal close out of Site Management Tour and

Safety Observation actions.

  • Support Accident/Incident Investigations reporting via the Project Manager

Resources & Development

  • Help to develop, implement and update resource allocation plans (OBS) and

raise appropriate requests on behalf of the project manger.

  • Support the request for training for project team members.
  • Support the oversight of training and competency renewals.
  • Assist the Project Manager to lead risk/opportunity reviews.
  • Follow up on actions from IRIS with owners.
  • Log and escalate any issues that cannot be resolved at delegated level of

authority

  • Assist management of subcontractors, including monitoring of contractor

attendance and progress, providing direct instruction and support as necessary,

such that contractual arrangements are achieved.

  • Ensure assurance activities (audits) are undertaken and follow up on

appropriate action on findings

  • Advocate consistency and reliability of digital data to support successful

project delivery – data driven decisions
Who we’re looking for

THE FOLLOWING QUALITIES/EXPERIENCE ARE ESSENTIAL:

  • Previous experience in a similar role is essential
  • Experience in project management lifecycle process
  • Proficient in commercial/project management communications
  • Able to communicate effectively both verbal and written with all levels of the organisation
  • Good interpersonal skills that enable working relationships to be developed at
    all levels across the business and be able to negotiate and influence

Able to undertake work in high pressure situations with a flexible attitude

  • A record of a solutions-based approach to problem solving

THE FOLLOWING QUALITIES/EXPERIENCE ARE DESIRABLE:

  • Experience of working on a variety of project types
  • Proficient on O365
  • Holds a current driving license

    or project management/construction or experience equivalent.
