Clark Builders is hiring a Project Coordinator with a focus on Lean and Integrated Project Delivery (IPD) projects to be based in Edmonton to assist with various projects across Alberta and British Columbia. This position will include an immediate, temporary 9-month assignment to an IPD project in Abbotsford, BC. This role will support the Project Manager(s) and Superintendent(s) in all aspects of the Lean construction process including monitoring and managing project documents utilizing Procore®, schedule management utilizing the Last Planner® System and Takt, organizing and participating in IPD Team meetings and huddles, and ensuring that project objectives are achieved in a timely manner.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Supporting in project startups and team formation with responsibilities including but not limited to, procurement and bid evaluations, subcontract preparation, utilities and site services applications, permit applications, quantity take-offs, assisting in development of the project communication plan and managing project milestone schedule
  • Project execution and document control responsibilities including Constraint Logs, Risk & Opportunity Registers, Design Clarifications (DC), Submittals, trade partner Change Orders (CO), and site Observation Reports
  • Project monitoring and close out responsibilities including assisting with inspections, Owner training, managing the O&M information transfer, reviewing, tracking, and communicating punch and deficiency lists, removing all insurance, closeout of utilities and site services, and removing temporary facilities
  • Support all Lean efforts and initiatives focused on enhancing customer value, nurturing a learning environment, engaging in continuous improvement processes, and maximizing project team collaboration through the use of Lean principles, tools and mindset
  • Maintain the integrity of the QA/QC plan through Procore optimization
  • Facilitate meetings and huddles and record and compile follow up on action items
  • Track productivity and performance of the project include Percent Plan Complete (PPC)
  • Project accounting basics
  • Adhere to Clark Builders’ policies and procedures and aid others in compliance
  • Support and grow ongoing site management team, trade partner, and client relationships

Skills and Knowledge:

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Analytical thinker with ability to interpret complex information and recommend innovative solutions
  • Capable of making complex, ambiguous and risk adverse decisions in a fast-paced project environment
  • Understanding the principles of Lean thinking, collaborative planning, and continuous improvement
  • The ability to read, understand and interpret technical drawings and specifications

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors’ degree, diploma or 2-year certificate in a construction related discipline
  • Minimum 2 years of progressive experience in the ICI (Institutional Commercial Industrial) construction and design industry
  • Strong aptitude for behavioral based contracting models and Lean management philosophy
  • Experience with Procore® and Last Planner® System an asset
  • Experience with various types of construction contracts
  • Ability to work remotely on temporary assignment(s)
