Project coordinator/group facilitator (LGBTQ+ project)

EXTERNAL VACANCY

Working as part of the wider young people’s groups team, this role is responsible for providing high quality group support to young people who identify as members of the LGBTQ+ community. We are looking for somebody who can build credible relationships with young people, and an understanding of some of the challenges that LGBTQ+ young people face is essential. Our ideal candidate will be comfortable delivering to groups of young people and adults, and either identify as LGBTQ+ or to be an ally to the community.
Aim of the post: To facilitate groups, outreach sessions and talks.

Main deliverables:

• To design and facilitate group based support for young people aged between 12-18 years (25 for vulnerable/looked after children) accessing the project
• To be the main point of contact for young people accessing the service
• To ensure that the service is promoted to reach a wide range of young people
• To complete all monitoring , data capture and reporting to a high standard
• To recruit and support a small team of project volunteers
• Work within York Mind values
