QUALIFICATONS
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field with four to seven years of pertinent work experience.
- Superior ability to maintain a high degree of professionalism and discretion and to commensurate with an executive office.
- Knowledge of university organizations (i.e. BCI) and provincial government policies and procedures viz universities is considered an asset.
- Demonstrated experience in, and knowledge of, university structure, functions, and governance.
- Demonstrated ability to develop, maintain and manage relationships with faculty members, senior management, as well as different levels of government officials.
- Customer focused approach, with focus on meeting the expectations and requirements of internal and external stakeholders.
- Ability to accomplish complex tasks through formal and informal channels, with strong ability to marshal resources (people, information and support) in a collegial, professional manner.
- Proven ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment, with accuracy and diligent attention to detail.
- Superior organizational skills and the ability to multitask; ability to work independently and in a team; client-service orientation.
- Very good knowledge (Level 5) of spoken and written English and French to communicate effectively with government and community stakeholders, ability to write and edit correspondence and reports, provide and interpret detailed information and deal with complex situations
- Good knowledge (intermediate level) of Word (format documents, review/comment/redline documents, do mail merges) and of Excel (create spreadsheets and charts); PowerPoint (to create presentations), Adobe Acrobat.

Responsibilities:
• Review inquiries from internal and external constituents, determine the best path forward, gather information, get approvals as deemed necessary, and respond to requests in a timely fashion. Where possible, promote appropriate Concordia representation on various government and related committees
- Prepare briefings and institutional reports; research diversified and often complex issues that require finding, compiling and analyzing data and information from a vast array of internal and external sources. Provide reports/findings/etc. in French or English as required
- Develop and align input from stakeholders and organize the implementation of strategic initiatives for the Office of the Provost, including coordination of reports to external bodies, such as the government of Quebec and university associations.
- Keep abreast of files, brief the Provost and Executive Director with regard to the status of pertinent issues and dossiers, and make recommendations where appropriate.
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive contact network and positive working relationships with various stakeholders and advances positive relationships and partnerships with counterparts across the higher education network in Quebec and Canada. Develop and maintain effective relationships with Concordia senior management personnel and their teams.
- In collaboration with Financial Services, support the management of, and reporting on, special envelopes budgets, gathering information internally and externally, acting as a resource person to internal stakeholders including senior administration, and reaching out to government units where needed.
- Participate and contribute to committees as requested by the Provost or Executive Director.
- Other duties as requested by the Provost and Executive Director.
