Description:

EDUCATIONAL & PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Post-secondary degree or diploma in a related engineering or construction management discipline
  • Previous coordination experience preferably with a mid to large general contractor considered an asset
  • Strong and effective communication skills including verbal, written and technical/computer skills
  • Problem solving skills
  • Positive relationship building abilities with both internal and external stakeholders
  • Driver’s license and access to a vehicle is preferred
    Project is located in Barrie, Ontario.

Responsibilities:

  • Document Control: RFI’s and Submittals: Review submittals to ensure they conform to the terms and conditions of the subcontract scope, the specifications, and the contract drawings. Comprehensive review of RFI’s to ensure inquiries cannot be resolved by direct reference to the contract documents, drawings and/or specifications. Provide all necessary back up documents to support RFIs (photos, drawings, etc.).
  • Cost Control: Log and distribute new Request for Quotation (RFQ’s) to subcontractors in a timely fashion using Procore software and as per Matheson policy. Submits PCO (COR) to Owner and/or Architect in a timely manner. Proficient and keeps accurate Pricing reports in Procore.
  • Schedule: Develop, maintain, and implement the schedule of submissions (procurement schedule). By working backwards and after discussion with field staff, rough submission dates can be generated for each item based on the construction schedule’s requirements and allowing time for review by the consultant. Proactively monitors, and clearly communicates schedule revisions to all project stakeholders, if required. Ability to predict delays and difficulties in cooperation with the Project Manager.
  • Contracts, Drawings and Specifications: Ability to understand and interpret the Prime contract, contract documents, shop drawings and specifications. Possesses a strong understanding of subcontractors’ contracts, scopes of work, exclusions, inclusions, and limitations.
  • Meeting Minutes: Responsible for meeting coordination, scheduling, and follow-up. Organize and potentially chair various project meetings (i.e., Subcontractor Start up, Coordination Meetings, OAC Meetings, PCO Review Meetings, etc.
