Summary:
PHC Ventures is hiring a brand new permanent, full-time Project Coordinator 3 to join their team.
As an expert navigator of the Canadian health care, regulatory, and technology landscape, Providence Health Care Ventures (PHCV) provides indispensable support to corporate, institutional, and individual innovators seeking to validate and commercialize their products and ideas. PHCV offers a portal to Providence Health Care (PHC) in Vancouver, Canada, a renowned provincial health organization whose lengthy innovation record and size make it an ideal incubator to validate and scale innovations. PHCV actively co-develops health solutions, incubate ideas, forge unconventional partnerships, facilitate consulting relationships with PHC clinicians, and invest in health start-ups. PHCV is a wholly owned, for profit subsidiary of PHC.
Reporting to the designated Manager or Leader, the Project Coordinator 3 is a professional level position responsible for providing leadership and coordinating the project activities of small to medium scale projects to ensure project deliverables are completed on time. Works collaboratively with interested parties/groups at all levels and coordinates others to achieve goals and deliverables through facilitation, effective communication and addressing potential barriers to success. Communicates with stakeholders, and all levels of staff and management on the scope and status of the project and acts as a resource. Liaises with consultants, other health care entities and other external agencies, as needed. Provides leadership and direction to project related staff. Develops sustainable education and operational plans and evaluates outcomes.

EDUCATION

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant discipline and three (3) to five (5) years’ recent, related experience that includes managing small to medium scale projects, facilitating and managing consultation processes with a wide range of stakeholder groups, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience. Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification is an asset.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Knowledge of project management principles and methodologies and ability to coach staff on these skills.
  • Ability to utilize initiative, vision, independent thinking and creative problem-solving abilities to implement project plans and realize project completion.
  • Broad knowledge of health care systems.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Effective collaboration skills and the ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with staff at all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to lead, direct, coach and mentor others.
  • Ability to work effectively under time pressure to meet deadlines, balance work priorities and resolve problems in a timely manner.
  • Functional knowledge of word-processing, spreadsheet, presentation, project management and database applications.
  • Ability to analyze and report statistical data.

Responsibilities:

  • Project Planning and Execution: Develops and implements project plans, objectives, and timelines in collaboration with stakeholders, ensuring projects are completed on time and within scope. Tracks progress, monitors risks, and suggests scope changes as necessary.

  • Stakeholder Communication and Support: Engages with interdisciplinary teams and stakeholders to communicate project status, benefits, and responsibilities, addressing questions and ensuring alignment with project goals.

  • Evaluation and Continuous Improvement: Works with team members to establish evaluation processes for project outcomes, collects and analyzes data, and makes improvements based on findings to enhance project success.
  • Team Leadership and Development: Provides guidance to project-related staff, participates in hiring, training, and performance evaluations, and fosters positive relationships to support project objectives.
