The position is based at Sandvik’s Turku site, the primary hub for product development and manufacturing of our Load and Haul equipment. We are seeking a Project Coordinator to join our project office team. This role operates in a hybrid model, allowing some remote work, but requires mostly on-site presence for effective communication and for example for project planning workshops, project meetings, and prototype build follow up at the Turku site.
Your primary areas of responsibility
As a member of the project office team, your responsibilities include various tasks in project planning, management, execution, and control of our offering development execution projects. Your main responsibilities are:
- Project planning: Preparing project proposals; creating and updating project plans focusing on work breakdown structure, resource planning and budget.
- Project execution and coordination: Supporting project manager executing and following up tasks according to Sandvik project model and appropriate methods.
- Project control: Progress reporting of engineering, procurement, and prototype manufacturing; evaluating progress, forecast, and productivity; cost follow-up and control of project and product costs.
- Stakeholder collaboration and communication: Cooperating and communicating actively with the stakeholders (e.g., engineering, sourcing, purchasing, manufacturing, finance and aftermarket personnel).
- Competency Development: Participating in continuous improvement of the project office processes and enhancing team’s skills in portfolio and project management related systems usage.
Your background and what we find important
- You hold a university degree in a related field, preferably a M.Sc. or B.Sc.
- You may have already gained some experience in project work, or you might be just starting out.
- You are proactive, organized, and enjoy working with people and managing projects with challenging deadlines.
- You thrive in collaborative project teams, working towards common goals within a multicultural environment.
- As we are a global organization, fluency in English, both written and verbal, is essential (Finnish skills are an advantage).
- Advanced proficiency in MS Office and quick to adapt using new programs.
- Skills in PowerBI, MS Project, MS Copilot and/or PPM Microfocus are a bonus.
- Occasional travel may be required for collaboration and project-related activities.
