WHAT QUALIFICATIONS DO YOU BRING?

  • Completion of a post-secondary college diploma or university degree in a related discipline (engineering or architecture) or a combination of education, training and experience deemed to be equivalent.
  • Sound knowledge of various engineering design principles; ability to read and interpret contract documents and other technical documentations.
  • Extensive experience in the areas of Project and Engineering management of large, complex and multi-disciplined projects would be an asset.
  • Project Management Office experience would be an asset PMP certification would be an asset.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively work with and provide support to multi-disciplined teams consisting of Project Managers, Senior Project Engineers, Designers and Consultants.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of current engineering principles and practices combined with a comprehensive knowledge of project management principles and practices, including conceptual planning and all phases of design.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of current Project Management Standards.
  • Familiarity with project management information systems and reporting as it relates to control of scope, scheduling and cost.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of construction techniques and practices, contract administration, construction inspection, and knowledge of pertinent Acts and Regulations (Construction Lien Act, Occupational Health & Safety Act, etc.).
  • A valid Province of Ontario Class “G” Driver’s licence.

Responsibilities:

Provides coordination on project activities through the project lifecycle, from initial planning, construction, on-site inspection, commissioning to close out/completion. Prepares full specifications for contracted work, reviews contract documents, requests for proposals for consultants, and recommends award. Coordinates and reviews work plans against defined project scope. Maintains proper project documentation to safeguard the department from contractor/supplier claims. Develops project schedules based on input from the project team. Ensures design compliance with respect to project scope and quality by coordinating design/constructability/maintainability requirements of all TTC departments. Coordinates the preparation of reports related to future project requirements, workload forecasts, and performance measurement. Provides constant support to ensure projects are delivered within budget and on schedule. Demonstrates behaviours that support diversity, inclusion, and a respectful work and service environment that is free from discrimination and harassment and helps to remove barriers and accommodate employees and customers (within their area of responsibility) in accordance with TTC’s commitments and obligations under the Ontario Human Rights Code (OHRC) and Related Orders, the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA), and TTC’s policies. Participates in the TTC Customer Service Ambassador Program.
