WHAT EDUCATION, SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS DO YOU BRING?

  • Must have completed a University or College Diploma in Business Administration or the equivalent, combined with several years of directly related work experience
  • A CAPM, or a PMP designation would be an asset
  • Sound knowledge of various engineering design principles, construction related practices, codes, standards and regulations and project management concepts involving several fields
  • Knowledge of procurement/contracting principles, the development of contract documents, and the tender evaluation/award process
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawing and specifications
  • Good understanding of technical matters related to engineered products/equipment, construction services and engineering/construction issues including sources for material supplies and services
  • Knowledge of property law, union and trade agreements and construction contracts, project management concepts and practices involving several technical fields, cost control and scheduling techniques
  • Sound judgement; well-developed analytical, administrative and leadership skills; excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Manage Human Resources
  • Understand and apply administrative policies, processes, and procedure
  • Communicate in a variety of mediums
  • Use of office technology, software and applications

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the management, administration, coordination and development of all Capital project stage gate phases including SOGR work undertaken by the Group/Department and by non TTC agencies (municipal and private organizations) which impact TTC facilities or operations
  • Leads, manages and coordinates a variety of projects and contracts for the Group. Provides project budget and schedule management support. Manages consultants, suppliers, and in-house design assignments
  • Manages and administers the construction planning, design, physical construction and accounting of all Capital related projects within the Group
  • Delivers the capital works program including assisting with the cross-departmental projects within the Group and other internal and external partners
  • Participates and provides input in to various corporate and inter-departmental initiatives including the State of Good Repair (SOGR) Infrastructure Programs, Finance Department’s Capital Budget Review Team
  • Provides client consultation, cost benefit analysis, feasibility study, technical review, and budget estimates services with respect to capital initiatives and third party partners such as Metrolinx on various expansion programs
  • Forecasts, develops, and implements, short and long term financial budgets for project requirements, in collaboration with other project managers and subject matter experts.
  • Develops, monitors and controls open orders for goods and services
  • Manages the development and implementation of Operational Standards relative to all capital projects within the Group
  • Develops and implements project control systems, cost evaluation methodologies and performance evaluation criteria for consultant/contractor selection in accordance with established corporate policies and guidelines
