Description:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
A High School Diploma or GED is required. A Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited four year college or university in Business or Public Administration, Social Sciences, or closely related field preferred. Two (2) years of full-time, paid, progressively responsible experience in program administration is required. Must be able to lift and carry thirty (30) pounds. A valid State of Ohio Driver’s License is required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Two years of work experience in direct service with the reentry population or other vulnerable and/or marginalized communities.
- The ability to maintain confidentiality with sensitive information related to a participant’s history.
- Excellent computer skills, ability to use Microsoft Office, Microsoft 365, Google G-Suite, and learn other information database systems quickly.
- Highly developed interpersonal skills with good relationship-building techniques.
- Time management organizational skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
- The ability to network, maintain and establish relationships.
- Experience in conducting conflict resolution/mediation sessions.
- Strong Case Management and/or Counseling skills and the ability to track, record, and report ongoing updates and changes with each participant assigned to their caseload.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience working in or with the criminal legal system and a comprehensive understanding of the reentry transitional process, including obstacles and barriers that formerly incarcerated people must go through when first released.
- High level of critical/analytical/interpretive thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Professional experience in the human services (i.e., Jobs and Family Services) social work, psychology, or related field and demonstrated experience in rental housing programs for formerly incarcerated populations a plus
Responsibilities:
EXAMPLES OF DUTIES
Under administrative direction, is responsible for planning and adminstering a specific project or program for a City department. Serves as the administrative supervisor on projects or programs. Plans, assigns, supervises, and reviews activities of subordinate personnel. Monitors the project or program’s operating budget and assists in the annual preparation of same. Designs, implements, and monitors procedures utilized in program evaluation. Develops and secures commitments from other City departments and agencies to provide services to program participants. Provides technical assistance or reviews program policies and procedures. Maintains current information and oversees the preparation of project status reports. Prepares financial and narrative reports and program applications. Communicates project/program status and information to municipal officials and/or public and private entities. May supervise employees assigned to the respective project. Performs other related duties as required.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Review intake and assessments for all participants. Collaborate with participants to create an individual reentry plan, which includes goals, objectives, and needed services and/or treatment, as well as their independent preparation plan before completing the program. Serve as each participant’s life coach and case manager providing referrals to needed treatment and services.
- Provide ongoing support and monitoring of participants while they are on parole and accompany participants to scheduled reentry court hearings.
- Be accessible for daily phone, text, and FaceTime messages with each participant.
- Contact/engage with the participant’s assigned parole agent and courts as needed. Utilize care coordination to connect participants to partnered agencies/support relationships.
- Assist with administering compatibility tools and conducting interviews with participants, as well as assisting staff in coordinating introductory meetings between potential hosts and potential participants.
- Provide ongoing support to participants as needed, and perform bi-weekly check-ins to monitor home conditions and housing arrangements. Conduct conflict resolution sessions as needed.
- Maintain up-to-date progress notes and reports; attend meetings as required.
- Work closely with reentry resource center staff to connect participants to resources.
- Responsible for facilitating participant orientation, training, and resolving conflicts that may arise at any point during participation in the Homecoming Project.
