The primary responsibility of the Project Manager/Developer is to serve as a resource to Project Managers throughout the estimation process. The Service Estimator will be expected to research parts, source quotes from outside contractors, and any other items deemed necessary to finalize estimates for customer approval. The Project Manager/Developer will work closely with Project Managers and report directly to the Operations Manager.
The Project Manager/Developer is responsible for managing all requirements of his/her work orders to successfully achieve the set objectives. This includes working closely with Project Development to generate comprehensive estimates and working closely with the Service Scheduler and Department Managers to ensure work orders are completed in a timely manner. Regular contact with members regarding work order status is critical. This position reports directly to the Operations Manager. Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to those listed below.

TECHNICAL AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • 5 years’ relevant experience preferred
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • ABYC and/or manufacturer certifications preferred
  • Ability to ascend and descend a ladder
  • Must carry own tools
  • Ability to work in confined spaces
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds
  • Basic boat handling skills a plus

Responsibilities:

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Interpret the needs of SHM members
  • Determine all maintenance needs and work closely with the Service Scheduler and Department Managers to schedule all service work
  • Provide support to Project Managers throughout the estimation process
  • Source quotes from outside contractors
  • Research project parts/materials and price appropriately on estimates
  • Review estimates with Project/Service Managers to ensure they are priced correctly and task descriptions are worded appropriately for both customers and internal staff
  • Ensure clear and precise instructions are on work orders for technicians
  • Work with Project Development to create comprehensive service estimates making sure work is approved
  • Frequently review work orders in progress confirming scheduling and/or completion of tasks
  • Carefully review/edit completed work and invoice members properly
  • Carefully review and manage Accounts Receivable for work you have invoiced
  • Review completed tasks maintaining a high level of quality control
  • Identify amenities and provide ROI reports for potential investments
  • Set and meet ongoing company goals
  • Available to work overtime as needed
  • Other duties as assigned by Manager

SAFETY AND ENVIRONMENTAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Follow SHM Safety and Environmental rules and complete required related training.
  • Wear proper personal protective equipment (may include safety glasses, gloves, life jackets and/or hard hats) as required for the task or work area.
  • Report all accidents, injuries, spills and near misses immediately.
