Directorate - Adult Care, Housing and Public Health
Temporary contract, 37 hours per week until April 2026
We are looking for an enthusiastic, innovative, and inspirational individual to lead on the development of Rotherham Council’s District Heating service, prior to new regulations coming into place in or around April 2025.

The successful post holder will be directly responsible for supporting the implementation of potential proposals around:

  • Pricing
  • Transparency of information
  • Quality of service and supply of heat
  • Protection for vulnerable customers

It will be the responsibility of the development officer to ensure regulatory compliance, including the potential for sourcing alternate billing systems, whilst focusing on delivering the best outcomes for residents.
This is an exciting role joining a highly successful service, you will have the energy and enthusiasm to drive continuous improvement at every opportunity.
The post holder will need to have great motivational and communication skills with the ability to deal with complex issues.

Until 31st March 2026 employees paid at Band D and above are subject to a temporary pay reduction of 1.15% spread out by means of a monthly deduction from each pay period over the full financial year. In recognition of implementing this temporary measure, those who experience a pay reduction will be awarded three additional days leave (pro rata for part-time).
