Your main responsibilities

  • Act as project manager on several building structure projects. Areas of expertise include: asset maintenance, major building transformation and/or multi-storey commercial and residential construction.
  • Be a technical reference in their discipline and resolve engineering issues of a more complex nature
  • Validate the accuracy of master plans and other engineering deliverables on projects under their responsibility
  • Coordinate resources and various professionals, and liaise with other internal disciplines to ensure timely delivery and production according to established deadlines and priorities
  • Meet with customers, plan customer needs, prepare proposals, letters of intent and establish budgets and schedules
  • Liaise with customers to check on project progress, ensuring that their opinions and requests are taken into consideration
  • Work closely with customers to resolve all project-related issues, such as, but not limited to, technical, finalization and budgetary requests.
  • Carry out contractual follow-ups and monitor the financial progress of contracts
  • Act as project manager for projects under his or her supervision and carry out budgeting follow-up in collaboration with the resources involved
  • Evaluate and implement methods, procedures and tools to improve service quality, optimize processes and increase productivity.
  • Participate in the development of the structure department by getting involved in technical and administrative standardization processes.

Your profil

  • Master’s degree in structural engineering (M.Eng or M.Sc.A) and/or management diploma an asset
  • Member of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec
  • Minimum fifteen (15) years’ experience in structural design and at least ten (10) in management
  • Have worked on large-scale projects in both the public and private sectors
  • Fluency in spoken and written French and English*.
  • Mastery of construction codes and standards applicable to building structures
  • Structural design software (CSI Etabs, SAP2000, SAFE, ADA or equivalent)
