Contexte:
The SYSTRA Project Director in Portugal will oversee and manage the design of a high-profile transport engineering project. This role requires strategic leadership, technical expertise and project management skills to ensure the successful completion of the project time, within scope and within budget. He/She will be a key player in the development of SYSTRA in Portugal, and therefore needs to perfectly understand the Portuguese market and players.
Missions/Responsabilités:
- Leadership & Management:
- Lead a multidisciplinary project team of professionals based in several geographies.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, including government bodies, contractors, and community groups.
- Foster a collaborative and innovative project environment.
- Project Planning & Execution:
- Develop comprehensive project plans, including timelines, milestones, resource allocation, and risk management strategies.
- Ensure all project activities comply with regulatory and safety standards.
- Monitor project progress and performance, implementing corrective actions as needed to ensure project goals are met.
- Technical Oversight:
- Provide technical direction and support to the engineering team.
- Oversee the design of the infrastructure.
- Ensure the integration of advanced technologies and best practices in transport engineering.
- Financial Management:
- Prepare and manage the project budget, ensuring efficient allocation of resources.
- Track expenditures and forecast financial requirements, making adjustments as necessary.
- Identify and secure funding opportunities and manage contracts with vendors and subcontractors.
- Quality Assurance:
- Implement and maintain quality assurance processes throughout the project lifecycle.
- Conduct regular audits and reviews to ensure compliance with project specifications and standards.
- Address and resolve any issues or discrepancies in project deliverables.
- Contract management
- Manage the contract and risks
- Ensure a proper compliance to the client requirements
- Reporting & Documentation:
- Prepare detailed project reports for senior management and stakeholders.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of all project activities, decisions, and changes.
- Present project updates and findings to relevant parties in a clear and concise manner.
Profil/Compétences :
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Transport Engineering, or a related field. A Master’s degree or professional certification is preferred
- Minimum of 20 years of experience in transport engineering, with at least 10 years in a leadership role managing large-scale infrastructure projects.
- Proven track record in rail projects or similar transport engineering projects
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Exceptional project management abilities, including planning, execution, and risk management.
- In-depth knowledge of transport engineering principles and high-speed rail technology.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Knowledge of Portuguese market and players
