Job Description
AECOM is seeking a Project Engineer to join our Markham, ON office. Opportunities for hybrid work are available.
Major Responsibilities:
- Assists the Senior Project Manager with planning, execution and delivering of multi-disciplinary engineering design projects;
- Coordinates project work with engineering design team such as architecture, structural, mechanical, electrical, and civil engineering disciplines;
- Assist in developing and delivering projects from inception to final completion through scope development, preliminary design, detailed design, construction administration, handover, and closeout;
- Lead in-house designers and external sub-consultants through all project phases;
- Ensure quality principles are applied and followed by the design team and that documents meet quality requirements;
- Coordinate work of sub consultants and in-house design team;
- Assist Project Manager and Project Controls, in monthly progress and performance reporting;
- Plays an active role in records management, budget tracking, and scheduling;
- Prepares meeting minutes, reports, and other project documents.
Qualifications
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
To be considered for this position, candidates must have no less than:
- A University degree in a relevant engineering or architectural discipline plus 4 (four) years of experience as a licensed Engineer or Architect, working within consulting industry on large, complex construction projects;
- Project Management experience and/or PMP certification.
PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:
- Prefer 5-10 years of experience as a licensed Engineer or Architect, working within consulting industry on large, complex construction projects;
- Comprehensive knowledge of current engineering principles and practices combined with a knowledge of project management principles and practices;
- Demonstrated experience in working within a consulting engineering environment with multi-disciplined teams;
- Demonstrated experienced in the use of project management concepts for scope, schedule and cost control;
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and related documentation;
- Must understand fundamental building science and construction;
- Team player with excellent listening skills and diplomacy; willingness to work with multiple different colleagues on a variety of initiatives;
- Strong report writing, scheduling, budgeting, and cost monitoring;
- Must be computer savvy and able to operate a Windows-based computer including programs such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook. Preferred Skills/Experience:
