Job Purpose
To ensure the efficient package management of complex project (marine, equipment or drydock), planning and preparation in the office and site based management when required. Complete tasks within agreed timeframes and budgets as per TechnipFMC Project Management Processes and under the guidance of the Project Manager.

Job Description

  • Production or collation and check of technical documents such as procedures, specifications, calculations, work packs
  • Office and site administrative support associated with project management activities
  • Adherence to the Project Management Process and Business Management System (BMS)
  • Advise the Project Manager and / or Lead Project Engineer of any foreseeable technical, schedule, quality or safety problems that may arise
  • Management of subcontractors to ensure timely order and receipt of equipment and services, as appropriate (including on site management)
  • Support the Project Manager in managing vessel modifications, upgrades and refurbishment work, including budgeting, scheduling, risk management, selection of suitable subcontractors, cost tracking, monitoring and final acceptance of work
  • Liaise with Discipline Engineers and Superintendents from VSO Asset Integrity & Offshore Bases for input and advice where necessary
  • Assist planning engineer to develop and maintain schedules to suit activities.
  • Ensure changes are managed effectively and in line with relevant procedures through the life of the project
  • Participate to ensure risks and impacts of any proposed modifications / upgrades are fully realised and documented
  • Attend TechnipFMC vessels to ensure comprehensive project workscopes are collated with the support of the Offshore Management Team and relevant Technical Authority onboard
  • Strive to ensure adequate Quality, Health Safety and Environment (QHSE) controls are in place and implemented accordingly and continually throughout life of the project
  • Promote correct QHSE behaviours through personal example
  • Review of vendor Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), Method Statements, Risk Assessments, etc. to achieve a high level of surveillance during execution
  • Liaise with Integrity and Certification Engineer regarding Classification Societies and Flag State Authorities to ensure vessel certification requirements remain in order
  • Co-ordination of the interfaces between the Offshore Management Team and Shipyard / Contractors during Project Execution on site
  • Support the Project Manager in evaluation of tenders (e.g. shipyards, fabrication yards, vendors, etc.)
  • Compile Technical Report documentation and assist in preparation of as-built documentation and certification for handover to the relevant Vessel Superintendents and Asset Managers
  • Support to Supply Chain and Finance deparmtents to develop procurement plans in a timely manner and maintain control of costs throught the life of project

Typical background and experience required:

Essential:

  • Work well within a team, ability to lead a team as required
  • Good communication skills
  • Good understanding of QHSES and risks assessment
  • The ability to react and continue to deliver results at a high standard when under pressure
  • Oil and Gas Industry or Marine related previous employment in either a practical ‘hands on / site role’ or an office-based engineering role
  • The ability to perform projects in a multi-national environment on a worldwide basis, able to attend sites for extensive periods of time

Nice to have:

  • Project Management Qualification – Level D for APM, and proven background or knowledge in the use of project management tools e.g. schedule, cost control, risk management, lessons learnt, etc.
  • Proven background in one’s own specific discipline
  • Ability to work to deadlines within financial constraints
  • Ability to manage suppliers and stakeholders before and during execution on site
  • Awareness of financial, commercial and contractual obligations with vendors

Qualifications (professional, technical, academic):

Essential:

  • HNC / HND or degree qualified in a relevant Engineering or Project Management discipline

Preferred:

  • Degree level qualification in Marine Engineering / Naval Architecture
  • Good level of relevant work experience in marine, offshore or oil and gas related industries
