You must have a relevant Electrical Engineering degree – a ECSA Registered Professional is preferred, or a candidate with a firm view of Professional Registration – with at least 4 years of project experience within the renewable energy space and with previous involvement with projects under the REIPPPP or commercial space. You impress us with these qualifications:

• Electrical Engineering degree (or similar)
• Minimum 4 years’ experience in battery-storage and/or Solar PV systems engineering design
• Strong understanding of battery-storage and Solar PV (Photovoltaic) power systems
• Ability to work within a local and international multidisciplinary design team.
• Willing to travel as required on occasion.

Desirable Attributes

• Strong understanding and skills of design programs/systems CAD
• Understanding of the relationship between technical and commercial project requirements
• Manages and resolves conflicts in a constructive manner.
• Knowledge of MV and HV systems and the interconnection of Renewable Energy Projects to the Electrical Utility
• Experience with on-site construction and commissioning
• Highly Knowledgeable with Solar PV plant and related Equipment
• Effectively searches for and finds appropriate information to address the needs of a project.
• Works in a team without supervision with minimal guidance

• Application of Engineering knowledge to design battery storage and Solar PV system Projects (~5MWp to ~100MWp + Batteries) including all auxiliary systems around this
• Create and review electrical schematics, cable calculations, determine quantities, equipment and component evaluations and specification all components to provide the optimal configuration for Battery-Storage and Solar PV systems.
• Perform Electrical Reticulation designs.
• Undertake PV and BESS system modelling (PVsyst, internal tools)
• Technical support for RFQ’s, Tenders, Sales, Development, construction, and execution
• Interface with internal stakeholders (project managers, project engineers, product engineers, procurement, sales team;) and external stakeholders
• Generation of Detailed Design Drawings, Calculations and Technical Reports
• Investigations of problems occurring on site during operation or construction
• Define, design, investigate, analyze, and solve complex engineering problems using in-depth fundamental knowledge
• Application of advanced and local knowledge of the principles underpinning good practices
• Manage part or all of complex engineering activities that includes working within multidisciplinary teams.
• Effective communication, including meetings, presentations and briefings
• Implementation of legal and regulatory requirements and protect the health and safety of persons and equipment during all complex engineering activities
• Be responsible for making sound judgements and decisions on part or all of complex engineering activities.
• Knowledge of Standards and Codes within the PV and BESS Fields
• Ability to plan activities and manage activities.
