Description:
The main purpose of the role is to manage complex transformation projects in line with the Business strategy. Takes responsibility for the full project life cycle from ideation to project closure.
This is a core role, which is fundamental in providing complex project management in support of transformation projects, capital investment introduction and strategic projects. Deputise for the Capital Project Manager when required.
What you’ll be responsible for :
Results Focus:
Health, Safety & Environment
- Ensure Health, Safety and Environmental compliance
- Ensure the appropriate focus is placed on behavioural safety
- Identify, manage and eradicate risks concerning HSE
- Operate within safe systems of work, and wear appropriate PPE
- Ensure training of mandatory HSE topics has been undertaken
- Identify opportunities to minimise the environmental impact of the site
Quality
- Operate at all times in accordance with the Business Management Systems
- Ensure processes and procedures are known, understood, monitored and controlled
- Ensure project quality plans are developed and controlled
- Manage preventive and corrective actions and verify their effectiveness
Cost
- Work within and adhere to budgets
- Manage projects in line with project budgets
- Provide full cost analysis against each change
Delivery
- Works with key stakeholders to translate into project management plans
- Creates project plans, project charters and project schedules
- Maintains project objectives, monitors and adapts as needed
- Monitors production and quality to customer/stakeholder/sponsor standards
- Identifies and resolves issues and risks
- Manages resources to make sure schedule is on track
- Participates to 5s Audits/ events to improve productivity and workplace organisation
People
- Implement all Human Resources policies as defined
Improvement
- Lead projects in support of the continuous improvement plan
- Select, deploy improvement tools to deliver improved performance
- Seek employee ideas, involvement and participation in improvement activities
· Continuously challenge, identify, and act on opportunities for improvements · Lead projects as required that are aligned to the strategic execution plan
Leadership Focus:
- Lead project meetings to ensure projects are delivered on time on budget
- Mentor, coach, develop Apprentice engineers in line with Company values
- Promote team working and a “One Team” ethos
- Partner with Purchasing and value stream teams to deliver robust plans
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Communicate with stakeholders the impact change and potential effects on supply
- Assure the application of regulatory provisions
Data and Reporting:
· Manage all projects robustly reporting on performance to milestones regularly · Measure and analyse performance using the defined metrics and provide the required weekly/monthly reports
- Analyse the root cause of metrics not at target level and develop the necessary action/recovery plans
- Ensures the security and integrity of all master data
Additional Duties, Responsibilities & Measurements: Additional duties would include, but is not limited to the following:
- Represent the Site with customers, suppliers or other external visitors
- Participate in compliance audits supporting the maintenance of external accreditations
- Contribute to the creation and implementation of a best practice manufacturing vision, strategy, policies, processes and procedures to aid and improve operational performance
- Contribute to new business initiatives and projects and review and communicate the impact on Manufacturing activities
- Undertake continuous training and development
