POSITION SUMMARY

CIMCO is looking for a Project Engineer / Technologist with Refrigeration and HVAC knowledge to join our Engineering Department in London.

REQUIRED PROFESSIONAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must be a graduate of an Accredited Institution having a Bachelor’s of Science in Mechanical Engineering, with a strong thermodynamics background.
  • Must have excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • An individual with a proven track record of being goal oriented and motivated who is able to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Knowledge of site construction techniques and practices is preferred
  • Knowledge of refrigeration, HVAC and plumbing system designs.
  • Knowledge of HVAC ducting design standards, and engineering criteria
  • Knowledge of SMACNA HVAC Duct Construction Standards
  • Experience with packaged rooftop, split systems, VAV, displacement ventilation, VRF, make-up air etc
  • Mechanical design experience (equipment selection and sizing, control strategy and layout of ductwork and piping, flow diagrams, air treatment units, refrigeration systems, chillers)
  • Experience on REVIT or a similar 3D BIM product is a great asset
  • Proficient in Autodesk software and other analysis/design software
  • Familiarity with the Ontario Building Code, CSA, ASHRAE and MasterFormat design specifications

Responsibilities:

  • Executes projects as a Project Engineer either independently or among a team with other Project Engineers depending on experience and complexity of project.
  • Review and analyze HVAC, refrigeration, and Plumbing system designs for Industrial/ Recreational/Commercial application to ensure safe and efficient operation
  • Conducting field surveys to assess existing conditions and provide technical guidance to sales department.
  • Review and refine equipment selections and materials specifications as per the project’s scope of work.
  • Writing reports and supporting documentation for project submissions;
  • Coordinate with outside parties such as; customer, consultants, suppliers, subcontractors to ensure successful completion of project on schedule and within budget.
  • Coordinate within CIMCO’s various departments, ie; service, construction, electrical, controls, manufacturing, purchasing as required per the project’s scope of work.
  • Prepare and issue Engineering documentation such as; construction drawings, system design schematics, sequence of operations, project scheduling
  • Conducting construction administration and project management; and other duties as assigned
