Description:
JOB SUMMARY:
Independently directs all phases of a programs from inception through completion. Reporting to the Engineering Manager the CIPT Lead Project Engineer Independently directs all phases of a programs from inception through completion.
QUALIFICATIONS YOU MUST HAVE:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from four-year college or university. Minimum 10 years related experience and/or training leading projects; or equivalent combination of education and experience in project Engineering.
- U.S. Person (U.S. citizen, permanent resident, or granted refugee or asylee status) as defined here: https://www.ecfr.gov/current/title-22/chapter-I/subchapter-M/part-120/subpart-C/section-120.62
QUALIFICATIONS WE PREFER:
- Design knowledge base includes, but is not limited to, fluid power handling equipment such as actuated or manual valves, pumping equipment, high speed blowers or fans, plumbing elements, thin-walled pressure vessels, and fluid/pneumatic seal designs.
- Experience with interpreting and creating equipment specifications, specifying and conducting verification testing, and generation of qualification and certification documentation related to Chapter 38 Water and Waste equipment and systems, or similar cabin equipment.
- Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Strong working knowledge of Teamcenter
- Strong knowledge of testing and certification requirements for common aerospace components and materials
- Excellent organization and communication skills
- Excellent ability to work well in a team environment and cross-functionally.
- Excellent communication, time-management, and problem-solving skills.
- Work independently and be self motivated
- Excellent to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
- Excellent knowledge of Aviation regulatory requirements (FAA, EASA, TCCA)

Responsibilities:
WHAT YOU WILL DO:
- Coordinating with Program Chief, oversees and coordinates the administrative and operational aspects of ongoing projects within program guidelines
- Independently liaises between project management and planning, project teams, and line management.
- Prepares proposals, business plans, proposal work statements and specifications, operating budgets and financial terms/conditions of contract
- Reviews project and budget status, manages schedules and prepares reports
- Monitors and assesses project issues and develops resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and customer-satisfaction goals and objectives
- Represents Collins as the primary customer contact for projects.
- Directs the work of employees assigned on projects in technical, manufacturing and administrative areas
- Responsible for procurement of appropriate development hardware used for testing and development.
- Meets program schedules and budgets
- Provides input to the integrated master schedule for project(s).
- Lead work packages with the support of IPT
- Coaching project engineer 2 & 3 on engineering practices, tools and expectations.
