Description:
DESCRIPTION
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join Cubico Sustainable Investments in Sydney, Brisbane or Melbourne as a Project Engineer. Reporting to the Head of Project Management Office & Procurement, this position will provide project management support to a portfolio of projects from the development gate, through development, pre-construction and construction activities of a portfolio of renewable energy projects in Australia.
KNOWLEDGE
- Good understanding of Project Management principles
- Understanding of key drivers of an investment decision and how to optimise return
- Good knowledge of the risks and pitfalls of projects at different stages in the lifecycle and a rounded view of the various issues that can impact on a project
- A good understanding of the energy industry, with a particular focus on renewable energy
- Knowledge of the renewable energy project development process from inception to operation of a project is desirable.
EXPERIENCE
- Experience in capital project development and construction, preferably in the renewable energy space
- Experience developing and implementing project controls for capital projects
- Experience reporting to senior leadership

Responsibilities:
- Manage the planning, implementation, tracking, and analysis of project(s) and portfolio from the development gate (early development) through to start of construction
- Responsible for Project compliance to corporate requirements across Project Governance, Risk Management, Change Management, and budget/accounting practises.
- Ensure appropriate project governance processes are embedded within each project
- Establish, monitor and coordinate project reporting timelines and structures
- Co-ordinate cross functional teams from a range of specialties in Australia and internationally in an environment that engenders high levels of motivation and performance
- Monitor and Identify unresolved or critical issues that arise during the project’s implementation and propose corrective actions to avoid delays or additional costs
- Communicate with stakeholders regularly to keep them informed about a project’s progress, milestones, and any issues that arise.
- Provide regular project and portfolio reporting to management in Australia and London
- Supporting the Head of PMO & Procurement, responsible for:
- Corporate compliance across the Australian Business in:
- Project Goverance (Reporting, Investment Gates etc.),
- Country Risk Management (Country Risk Registers etc.),
- Information management (Document Management strategy, External File sharing etc.)
- Other as required.
- Good practise Project Management across the Australian business through development and implementation of Project Management initiatives:
- Project Planning (Schedule guidance templates)
- Project Cost estimating/Budgeting guidelines and templates,
- Project Risk management tools and templates
- Stakeholder management tools and templates
- Other etc..
- Delivery of specific project scope across the portfolio of projects.
