SUMMARY:
The Project Engineer is responsible for managing and coordinating construction projects while providing technical, field, and digital support to Project Managers, Superintendents, and Subcontractors. In this role, the Project Engineer oversees medium to large projects, applying expertise in project management software such as Procore, Primavera P6, Trello, and Jira to streamline the construction process. Key responsibilities include writing, negotiating, and reviewing contracts and subcontracts, while leading all pre-construction activities like scheduling, monitoring the acquisition of materials, equipment, and manpower to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget. Additionally, the Project Engineer employs digital marketing skills to enhance project visibility through effective communication strategies and the creation of engaging presentations for stakeholders. The Project Engineer also ensures project progress through robust document control practices, quality assurance, and collaboration with clients and subcontractors to resolve challenges and facilitate necessary change orders using platforms like Procore and Excel.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s degree; or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred,
- 0-3 years of prior experience in project management or related roles, with proficiency in tools like Trello, Jira, and Primavera P6.
- Ability to initiate tasks and execute accurately & effectively,
- Strong understanding of project scheduling, budgeting, and resource allocation.
- Must have a positive attitude and work ethic,
- Ability to assess and prioritize multiple tasks, projects, and demands,
- Must have strong verbal and written communication skills,
- Must be able to always focus on safety of self and co-workers,
- Must be willing to travel if required,
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and construction/project management software (Primavera, Procore, Trello).
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
- Must be self-motivated and dedicated to high-quality work.
- Technical proficiency in video editing or digital media production tools (such as Adobe Suite) is a plus.

Responsibilities:
- Lead the project management lifecycle by coordinating requests for information (RFIs), ensuring they are logged, prepared, and distributed to the relevant teams using project management tools like Trello, Jira, and Procore.
- Collaborate with supervisors to review RFI content and ensure it aligns with project objectives.
- Manage the document control process by handling the creation, submission, tracking, and distribution of RFIs, submittals, and other project-related documents using platforms such as Procore, and Excel.
- Facilitate document control by utilizing hyperlinking techniques for key project information (RFIs, submittals, sketches, inspections), providing notification updates and assisting team members with accessing relevant materials.
- Oversee submittal processes by reviewing and pursuing timely submission, ensuring they comply with contract documentation.
- Assist in reviewing and preparing change order proposals, leveraging experience with budget tracking, resource allocation, and project cost management.
- Perform quantity take-offs to verify change order amounts, applying data analytics skills to enhance accuracy.
- Provide administrative support including permit tracking, scheduling inspections, and maintaining effective communication with subcontractors, utilizing tools such as Excel, ShotGrid, and Adobe Suite.
- Visit job sites as needed to gain insight into material usage, ensuring alignment between submittals and on-site conditions.
- Serve as the liaison between subcontractors, vendors, and the project team, ensuring clear communication and document control.
- Coordinate project close-out documentation and ensure timely submission of all required materials from subcontractors, applying meticulous attention to detail.
- Assist the project team by maintaining up-to-date records for construction documents, drawings, specifications, permits, Project Schedule, RFIs, and change orders using Primavera P6, Procore, and Microsoft Office.
- Participate in site meetings and provide timely meeting minutes for stakeholders such as owners and subcontractors.
- Support safety protocols and enforce compliance with company best practices and federal/state regulations.
- Leverage expertise in video production and editing to create engaging presentations or documentation for stakeholders, if needed.
- Employ advanced technology and software solutions such as Adobe Suite and AutoCAD to manage multimedia or technical aspects of the project.
- Participate in industry events (career fairs, networking functions, trade shows) to represent the company, contributing to both project management and digital marketing initiatives.
- Additional duties as assigned.
