This position will roster on a 5/2/4/3 10-hour day or 8/6 12-hour day.
About the role
Reporting to the Geotechnical Superintendent your role at Evolution Mining with encompass planning and managing the geotechnical capital projects across both the Underground and Open Pit operation whilst p roviding value-adding geotechnical solutions to the operation based on strategic, commercial and operational analysis.

YOUR ACCOUNTABILITIES WILL ALSO INCLUDE:

Supporting the geotechnical business function through integrated life of mine plan planning [RB1]
Lead the Geotechnical improvement initiatives through the provision of geotechnical projects support and co-ordination activities to the business. This will include:
identifying opportunities,
facilitating projects to examine, evaluate and validate options,
facilitating the integration of validated projects, improvements, study outputs, schedules, and designs into the operation
Conduct – or facilitate the undertaking of - geotechnical engineering analyses related to both surface and underground operations
Collaborate with both the Underground and Open Pit Geotechnical teams in examining solutions to assess and manage geotechnical risks applicable to the operation
Identification of Geotechnical improvement opportunities; undertaking appropriate studies, tests, and research to validate opportunities, development of these into level appropriate for delivery and/or execution
Provision of technical geotechnical expertise to the geotechnical teams
Facilitate planning inputs (long term forecasting and short-term budgeting) relevant to the geotechnical elements of the site planning life cycles
Introduction of appropriate technologies to the business to improve performance
Undertake projects that assist operational teams to cost effectively and functionally ensure safety of personnel and maximise the recovery of the Reserve
Contribute to the improvement of safety, production, cost performances and data management associated to Integrated Planning department and processes
About you
Tertiary qualifications in Mining / Geoscience / Civil with major in Geomechanics or equivalent
Post graduate degree in Geomechanics advantageous
Relevant geotechnical experience in open pit and underground mining environments
Demonstrated working experience and understanding of safety systems, geotechnical controls, and mining operations
Working knowledge all legislative and regulatory requirements
Self-directed to achieve individual, team and organisational goals
Well-developed analytical and communication skills
Adaptive and responsive to change and the ability to flex/ operate in a dynamic work environment / project environment
Excellent relationship building skills and can influence people of all backgrounds
