We currently have an exciting new opportunity for a Project Engineer to join the Heat Transfer division in Glasgow.

ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Support Sales and Operations to review all inbound enquiries assist in the preparation, control and coordinate the collation of all relevant Technical support documentation required for key projects / contract bids to ensure a comprehensive, professional response in conjunction with the operations support team. Develop and support the UK & International Regions to maximise the development of Heat Exchanger Services.
  • Provide daily technical support to all field technicians for the day-to-day requirements on key projects a having due regard to the efficiency, safety, quality, budgets and timescales of the projects undertaken.
  • Carry out Technical Site Surveys to secure business onshore and offshore.
  • Work in a manner, which protects the health, safety and welfare of self and others.
  • Actively participate in Company improvement initiatives.
  • Adheres to all Company policies and procedures including quality, safety, environmental and HR.
  • Attends customer meetings as required to help secure contracts. Involvement will range from analysing needs to presenting proposals.
  • Willing to travel within the UK /overseas and develop relationships with Glacier Regional offices and Key customers.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • At least 10 year’s experience of working in a Heat Exchanger Services related role.
  • Good mechanical engineering knowledge.
  • Sound educational background minimum HNC mechanical engineering preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, communication, influencing and organisational skills.
  • Strong financial and business acumen.
  • Team and goal oriented.
  • Strong analytical skills coupled with practical, hands on problem solving approach.
  • High energy and drive.
  • IT literate with specific experience using Microsoft Excel, Word & power point programs.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide Site Management / Company Focal Point and Leadership to Heat Exchanger Services work scopes and projects to maximise growth and opportunities for the business, whilst continually maintaining the highest level of safety.
  • To proactively develop technical solutions and new initiatives to secure offshore / onsite heat exchanger contracts and key accounts development.
  • Proactivity involvement of assuring the competency standards of technicians are assessed and recorded.
  • Act as mentor in the development of Site Technicians providing practical training and commercial awareness.
  • Ensures that all maintenance of equipment is kept to the highest standards, instruct workshop engineers on machine repairs.
  • Responsible for the continued development & standardisation of procedures & Technical proposals
  • Provide day-to-day technical support to the Operations Teams.
  • Assist with the technical bid proposals to the Regions
