ABOUT HINKLEY POINT C

The first new nuclear power station to be built in the UK in over 20 years; Hinkley Point C in Somerset will provide low-carbon electricity for around 6 million homes, create thousands of jobs and bring lasting benefits to the UK economy.
Marking a significant milestone in the revitalisation of our nuclear power industry, Hinkley Point C will make a major contribution to the UKs move to reduce carbon emissions. The electricity generated by its two EPR reactors will offset 9 million tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions a year, or 600 million tonnes over its 60-year lifespan.
What you’ll be doing

As a HVAC Project Engineer, you will have the following responsibilities,

  • Support the work pack Lead in the day-to-day production of Construction work packs and associated documentation.
  • Ensure work packs and associated documentation are complete to programme.
  • Comprehensive understanding of relevant HVAC design discipline drawings.
  • Provide HVAC guidance and expertise to the MEH Alliance works supervision.
  • Ability to produce complex method statements in compliance with MEH procedures and Client specification.
  • Production of task-based risk assessments in compliance with MEH Alliance procedures.
  • Identify the requirement for specialist tooling and materials associated with the works listed in the Workpack.
  • Identify support and temporary works requirements associated with the works listed in the work packs.

Who we’re looking for

We’re looking for;

  • A mechanical / HVAC discipline
  • Experience or HNC relevant engineering Discipline
  • Working knowledge of engineering standards
  • IOSH Managing Safely preferred.
  • CCNSG Safety Passport
  • Ability to obtain a high level security clearance.
