Description:

Based in Swadlincote, the Project Engineer plans, designs and executes projects ensuring adherence to budget and timeline. Proactive communication with clients and internal teams ensures smooth project flow and client satisfaction. Collaborating closely with Technical Detailers to maintain drawing accuracy and minimise non-conformance reports (NCRs). With a positive attitude the Project Engineer cultivates strong relationships to deliver exceptional service to our valued customers.

Responsibilities:

  • Effectively manage and oversee multiple projects with a proactive client focus.
  • Ensure the relevant project Detailer/s issue approval drawings to the client to meet expectations and achieve committed delivery dates.
  • Ensure the relevant project Detailer/s issue to production drawings are in time and in agreement with the production manager to achieve requested delivery dates and in accordance with meeting the clients’ expectations.
  • Ensure the relevant project Detailer/s issue construction drawings prior to delivery of product to site.
  • Fixing and product installation guides must be sent with these drawings and that relate to your project specific needs within your attachments.
  • Ensure the relevant project Detailer/s provide accurate drawings to minimise NCR’s.
  • Maintain information/records required to achieve successful project management.
  • Produce Operation and Maintenance Manuals in partnership with the project Detailer and as requested by Clients.
  • Actively monitor and amend Product Delivery Dates to suit Client Programme.
  • Quantify, Order and Control Brick Requirements for all projects avoiding delays or discrepancies from your client.
  • Ensure you hold regular client meetings to review project progress and overcome difficulties.
  • Ensure all variations affecting costs are advised to the client, then quoted and claimed.
  • Update the future orders project database daily to ensure all figures reported are accurate and that you prioritise your workload accordingly. An accurate six week forecast is imperative to allow for production planning, although the aim should be for an accurate six month forecast.
  • Control carriage charges for all projects by recording and recovering previously unforeseen additional costs from the client.
  • Produce reports and presentations as required for projects, detailing variations between invoices and quote value.
  • Manage projects in a manner which prevents customers from making claims for delays on site.
  • Ensure you are able to provide basic calculations to the current standard for all products specified. If necessary seek assistance from the dedicated Structural Engineering team.
  • Produce operation and maintenance manuals in conjunction with the project Detailers and Structural Engineers when requested by clients.
  • Attend occasional office and site visits to develop customer relationships, solve technical issues and develop product design. Provide detailed written reports to all attendees following any such meetings.
  • Instil and uphold a customer comes first service culture for both internal and external customers.
  • Develop client relationships and keep communication lines open. Regular contact with client site representatives is critical.
  • Record and monitor all customer service issues providing evidence, in report format, at the end of all projects including any additional costs incurred as a Company.
  • Coach customers including product presentations as a training aid.
  • Conduct site installation training sessions for customers when required.
