Description:

Marshall Canada requires a Project Engineer in Ottawa, ON to join our team. Reporting to the Senior Engineering Manager, this role is responsible to undertake specific engineering work packages to support delivery of systems across the Land Systems business lines to meet requirements, schedule, and cost.

Your responsibilities in the role:

  • Support the design and implementation of engineering/technical solutions through execution of allocated engineering tasks.
  • Support on the delivery of projects for engineering and ensure delivery against project time, cost, and quality standards.
  • Support engagement with customers to develop project objectives/milestones, establish protocols for working together, and mobilize internal resources to resolve customer issues.
  • Contribute to the development of relevant budgets and technical resources as they relate to programs in design development as well as when they move through manufacturing.
  • Coordinate with other disciplines to enable the development of design solutions in line with Systems Engineering principles.
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of policies and procedures relating to engineering design. Monitor systems, processes, and practices within technical area to identify opportunities for improvement in light of changing needs, feedback and/or current best practice.
  • Fulfill technical project roles as assigned by the functional lead. Work to the project management schedule and budget and report to the Project Manager and Project Technical Lead for day-to-day engineering and technical disciplines required to complete a project.
  • Support the engineering department strategy.
  • Participate in continuous improvement within the engineering department.
  • Responsibility to promote the Health & Safety Internal Responsibility System by working with supervisors and employees to ensure workplace and employee health & safety.
  • Engendering a culture for the promotion of Marshall Canada Core Values and ethical business behavior in a tolerant workplace free from discrimination, violence, and harassment.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Senior Engineering Manager.

Apply if you have most of the following:

  • An appropriate Engineering discipline (e.g., Electrical, Mechanical, Aerospace etc.) from an accredited university.
  • Professional designation (P. Eng.) is an asset.
  • Significant project engineering management or related technical experience.
  • Commercial acumen.
  • Demonstrated effectiveness in managing working relations and influencing internal stakeholders.
  • Proven track record of successful delivery of work packages to support complex engineering projects.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience managing tasks and information in an ISO 9001:2015 Quality Assurance environment.
  • Ability to communicate and write clear technical and business reports in English; proficiency in French is an asset.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite applications.
  • Available for occasional travel – both domestically and internationally.

Must be eligible to meet the requirements of export control regulations, including the Canadian Controlled Goods Program and Canadian government security requirements.
