Description:
Project Engineer, Municipal Infrastructure Engineering
D.M. Wills Associates Limited is in search of a Project Engineer to join our Municipal Infrastructure Engineering Group.
The successful candidate will be responsible for municipal infrastructure projects including asset management studies, renewal of roads/streets, utilities, sewers, and mains, stormwater management and drainage, intersection design, traffic management, water and wastewater capacity studies, and water distribution network design, as examples.
KEY QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering.
- Licensed as a Professional Engineer in Ontario.
- Minimum 3 years of relevant experience related to the Key Responsibilities noted above.
- Solid knowledge of principles and practices of proposal submissions, project delivery, and contract administration.
- Solid understanding of engineering, theory, concepts, and regulations related to the field of work.
- Solid understanding of the principles and practices of budget development and financial management within the consulting industry.
- Comprehensive knowledge of the Ontario Health and Safety Act as it relates to supervision of staff and field work.
- Excellent communication skills, including mediation and negotiation skills.
- Demonstrated analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong work ethic and ability to manage multiple projects or issues simultaneously.
- Exceptional time management skills to meet critical timelines.

Responsibilities:
- Oversee preliminary and detail design.
- Identify and solve complex engineering design issues in order to satisfy clients’ needs while adhering to applicable policies, practices, and procedures.
- Complete preliminary and detailed design calculations in order to support engineering recommendations.
- Prepare project estimates, budget, schedules, and execution plans.
- Undertake technical and feasibility studies including site investigations.
- Prepare technical documentation including letters, reports, drawings, specifications, and construction contract documents.
- Contribute to business development and marketing activities for existing and new clients and undertake the preparation of technical proposals.
