Description:

The Project Engineer will ensure the successful execution of upstream oil and gas projects by overseeing their entire lifecycle, from initiation to completion.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for coordinating with technical teams, managing stakeholder expectations, and aligning project objectives with organizational goals.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • A degree in engineering, preferably Civil/Structural, Mechanical, Chemical, or Electrical engineering.
  • At least 10 years of experience in EPCIC (Engineering, Procurement, Construction, Installation and Commissioning) within the Oil and Gas industry.
  • COREN registered with working knowledge of Oil and Gas facilities, Process Engineering and Project Engineering systems, tools and practices in a project lead position.
  • Minimum of 3 years as a Project Manager for small to mid-sized projects with emphasis on land, swamp and shallow water operations.
  • Excellent analytical skills to address technical, commercial, and process challenges in complex projects.
  • Excellent interpersonal, report writing, presentation and communication skills.
  • Advanced knowledge of industry-standard EPCIC tools, project management systems, and global engineering standards.
  • Strong technical background in process engineering, construction management and troubleshooting oilfield equipment.
  • In-depth understanding of design engineering, procurement, installations, construction, and commissioning activities.
  • Expertise in contract management, resource allocation, schedule optimization and cost control.
  • Proven track record of managing EPCIC projects, including the design, installation, and repair of pipelines, flowlines, and oilfield equipment.
  • Proven ability to identify and mitigate risks while building and maintaining effective relationships with stakeholders to achieve project objectives.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide effective project management by offering clear guidance and instructions to the multi-disciplinary project team members.
  • Develop detailed project plans to track progress, finalize execution and quality plans, establish
  • Assist the IPM group in achieving competitive project outcomes, focusing on cost efficiency and timely delivery.
  • Coordinate internal resources and third-party vendors to ensure seamless project execution, meeting deadlines, scope, and budgetary requirements.
  • Take responsibility for delivering surface facilities projects essential to achieving production goals.
  • Offer facilities engineering and construction management support across functional areas, including asset management, drilling, subsurface, and production engineering.
  • Define project scopes and objectives, ensuring alignment with stakeholders and technical feasibility.
  • Prepare annual budget estimates for project costs and schedules, contributing to the development of cost control and resource allocation strategies.
  • Utilize verification techniques to address changes in project scope, schedules, and costs.
  • Track project performance using relevant systems, tools, and methodologies.
  • Review and manage technical information, design documents, and drawings, ensuring effective communication between the company and contractors.
  • Implement robust project management and health check systems to oversee interface management, risk mitigation, permits and consents, cost control, schedule tracking, and quality assurance. Apply these systems during design and construction to maintain technical integrity.
  • Coordinate employee engagement initiatives, such as town halls, team-building events, and recognition programs.
  • Support the training and professional development of project team members.
  • Ensure compliance with organizational and regulatory standards, including safety and quality measures.
