We are seeking a talented, industrial and/or commercial Project Engineer that is able to work with the project team to provide technical support around quality controls, blueprint and contract compliance, scheduling, documentation, and engineering means and methods on site. They must also ensure the project is constructed in a safe, ethical manner and compliant with all federal, state, and local laws.
Job Responsibilities:
- Assist in proper project planning, value-added engineering means & methods, developing work packages and preparing production indicators/benchmarks, and developing the master schedule.
- Identify any state or local laws relating to environmental compliance and educate our team to ensure understanding and compliance with permit requirements.
- Research and resolve conflicts and errors in design/drawings for crafts installing material to ensure they comply with codes and specifications.
- Verify quantity tracking data and measure productivity.
- Interpret production goals from work packages to ensure daily communication of productivity goals is understood by crews executing the work.
- Track progress of the major Vendors and Subcontractors to ensure that materials are manufactured and delivered.
- Assist in the Purchase Order and Subcontract process for Vendors and Subcontractors, including scope of work clarifications and contract development.
- Maintain the project schedule to aid project leadership.
- Generate and maintain the various informational logs and correspondence with project client/owner.
- Assist in the compliance of the project QA/QC program during construction in addition to leading the project closeout process.
- Provide engineering input to the daily job log.
- Generate and maintain contract compliance listings, buyout logs, and procurement reports.
- Identify, document, and estimate costs of extra work of unanticipated activities. Establish and maintain a project change order log.
- Coordinate the transmittal and subsequent approval of all submittals to the Owner/Engineer.
- Other duties as assigned/required.
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Requires a four-year degree in engineering or construction management degree or equivalent combinations of technical training and/or experience in industrial and/or commercial construction.
- Thorough knowledge of all aspects of construction (technology, equipment, methods): craft agreements, jurisdiction, negotiations, engineering, estimating, schedules, and safety required.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills are essential.
- Prior understanding of Procore encouraged.
- Must be willing to travel.
