Description:
Rock West Composites, Inc. has an exciting opportunity for a Developmental Project Engineer.
Rock West Composites, Inc. is an engineering and manufacturing company dedicated to providing innovative solutions for commercial, space, civil, and DoD based customers. This position is located in our San Diego, CA-San Ysidro location and reports to our Director of Product Development.
JOB SUMMARY:
The Project Engineer will support the planning, budgeting, and schedule tracking for complex programs. The PE will focus on planning, execution, tracking and project completion.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Material Science with a minimum of 3 years of experience in composite engineering, OR over 10 years of experience in developing manufacturing processes and advanced composite materials engineering.
- Must understand how to develop and bid composite structures
- A minimum of 3 years of experience tracking project / program costs
- 3 years of experience developing a program / project schedule
- Space hardware experience is a huge PLUS
Responsibilities:
- Support planning, budgeting, and schedule tracking for complex programs.
- Must be able to develop and follow a schedule.
- Perform Materials and Processes (M&P) technical assignments
- Troubleshoot problems and find innovative solutions
- Support new business development and proposal activities
- Develop material and process specifications through collaboration with manufacturing and vendors
- Develop and execute composite material qualification plans
- Assure RWC policies and procedures are adhered to
- Support multiple programs and customers
