Description:

Our ambitious and innovative projects (all 5000+ of them) help to combat the challenges of waste and water infrastructure, flooding and water quality. Being part of our Technical and Contract Service team means we can do the best by our customers and our water.
If you want to do more because you care, we’d love to talk to you. There really is something for everyone here.
We are looking for a Project Engineer to support our Treatment teams in the West Capital delivery team within Technical and Contract Services (TCS) team.

EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW

As a Project Engineer you’ll be part of a team that covers the West side of the Severn Trent area, from Stafford down to Gloucester. This role would be mainly working in the North Birmingham, Stafford and perhaps Shrewsbury area, but not limited to that, and supporting the wider team during periods of annual leave or workload cover, so you could be asked to support anywhere.
With a diverse programme in the Capital maintenance blocks for both Waste and Water, you’ll see a wide range of site activities from screw pump replacements, pumping station refurbs, settlement tank bridge refurbishments, fitting flow monitors and inlet screens and civils work. The programme of works is prioritised by risk and funding agreed in collaboration with Customer Operations who own the sites. Some activity comes from proactive programmes of work and is prioritised through our Tactical Asset Planning (TAP) team, so stakeholder management is key throughout the project life cycle.
Youll be competent in managing the six aspects of a project, i.e. scope, schedule, finance, risk, quality and resources. Youll drive the project plans, safeguard milestone delivery and ensure prompt and accurate reporting of progress through to the Lead Project Manager.

Responsibilities:

You’ll come equipped with confident communication, great team membership and stakeholder management skills, with a proactive and flexible approach to working, and have excellent planning and organising skills as well as a great awareness of safety, everything we do involves people and process, so we need to stay safe.
Ideally, you’ll be able to demonstrate experience of managing multiple projects or programmes of work at a given time and knowledge of H&S through IOSH managing safely, managing contractors and Suppliers and CDM 2015 whilst remaining curious, being courageous, taking care and being proud of what you and the team do. If you are not at that level but you are the right person, we will be happy to support you on your journey to achieve the qualifications.
Being a regional based team, it’s essential you’re able to travel independently to sites around the patch to deliver our projects and for team meetings. You’ll be based at Shelton in Shrewsbury.
The right skills and experience are important. But if you have the right character, positivity and a caring attitude we want to talk to you, too.
We welcome people from all walks of life and celebrate individuality as we know diverse minds, experiences and backgrounds help us to learn and better serve our communities. We want people who show up and get involved. Those who are ready to be part of something bigger and who want to make a difference because they care. Is that you?
