We’re hiring a Project Engineer for Thames Water Sewage Treatment Works in the Thames Valley area! This is your perfect role if you love working on hands-on mechanical and electrical projects.

  • Competitive salary up to £56,000 per annum.
  • Car Allowance of £4,500 per annum.

Responsibilities:

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING AS A PROJECT ENGINEER

  • Manage and deliver a portfolio of mechanical, electrical, civil, control and instrumentation projects valued at up to £5 million annually.
  • Working closely with Thames Water operations, including Process Improvement Engineers and our contractor supply chain, to scope, specify, and cost-quality solutions that are fit for purpose and value for money.
  • Ability to think quickly, decisively, challenge, and develop interim reactive solutions for maintenance issues that must be resolved promptly.
  • Comply with Health and Safety requirements, ensuring that all projects built and designed comply with the Construction Design and Management Regulations (CDM).
  • Overseeing the commissioning and handover of the project to the operational client.
  • Ensure appropriate training has been completed and completion documents, including test certificates and constructed drawings, are available and handed over.
  • 36 hours a week, Monday to Friday, based on site 5 days a week.
    Must be a driver and have access to a car to travel to sites.

WHAT YOU SHOULD BRING TO THE ROLE

  • Hold an HNC/HND or a degree in Engineering. Alternatively, have a strong knowledge of being hands-on in the Mechanical and Electrical industry.
  • Enjoy being hands-on and proactive on-site to ensure it runs at always required capacity levels.
  • Be technically and commercially astute, with a proven engineering background.
  • Ability to investigate, scope and specify engineering solutions for plant modernisation and refurbishment.
