Description:

THE OPPORTUNITY

Veolia Water is seeking an experienced Project Engineer to be based in Tugun 4224. Within this role you will take ownership of capital projects and operational improvements at Veolia Water’s Gold Coast Desalination Plant and other sites across Queensland.
Applying your project management and engineering expertise, you will plan and execute projects from initiation through to successful completion, ensuring compliance with standards and on time, on budget delivery. This is a hands on position coordinating all aspects of project execution including schedule management, risk assessments, subcontractor oversight, documentation control and more.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop documentation for the site asset renewal program per the Asset Management Plan
  • Plan and initiate assigned capital and operational projects
  • Prepare and manage change and associated project documentation
  • Ensure projects are completed on time and within budget
  • Prepare project business cases for the capital program
  • Coordinate management of change process and reporting
  • Prepare detailed project scopes aligned with standards/specifications
  • Coordinate design reviews, risk assessments, and HAZOPs
  • Liaise with operations, maintenance, procurement, and asset management teams
  • Coordinate site visits for project tenders/quotes
  • Prepare purchase orders for approved works
  • Coordinate shutdown work to meet production requirements
  • Provide project oversight for quality requirements
  • Manage subcontractors and engineering consultants
  • Manage project budgets and approve contractor invoices and progress claims
  • Comply with OH&S, environmental, and quality policies/procedures
