SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE / QUALIFICATIONS

  • Strong analytical skills, prioritise, planning and organise assigned projects
  • Ability to guide a team of engineers, drafters and site personnel to project targets
  • Ability to prepare and maintain project plans, purchase requisitions, product claims specifications and design specifications
  • AutoCAD / Solidworks experience (Desirable)
  • Ability to apply expertise and solve problems in a logical manner
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a fast pace environment and as part of team
  • Possess flexibility, adaptability and versatility of approach to handle changing work requirements
  • 4 years’ experience in a similar role (Desirable)

Responsibilities:

ABOUT THE ROLE

The role of the Project Engineer is to assist the CFT Custom Build Manager and Project Managers with successful project completion from inception to close out, including Project Design (Optimisation Strategies), Planning and Delivery, including onsite supervision and management, as required.
As part of this role the Project Engineer will be responsible for elements of the projects assigned to them and must ensure these meets specifications, budgets and timeframes.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Organisation and planning of assigned projects within ISO9001 guidelines
  • Attend project sites nationally during planning and construction phases to supervise, document and drive progress of onsite activities
  • Prepare and implement various project plans including Project Management Plans, Safety Management Plans, Inspection and Test Plans, Document Control, Transport and Logistics, SWMS, Community and Environmental Plans
  • Analyse data during design, planning and construction stages of projects to ensure project deadlines and budgets are met
  • Assist with obtaining relevant state and local permits to achieve projects timelines
  • Manage procurement needs of projects
  • Arrange material dispatches to clients by booking transport and generating load schedules for production staff to utilise when loading trucks
  • Communicate effectively with outside suppliers and consultants to ensure deadlines are met
  • Work to nominated budgets and track project progress
  • Generate project close out reports at the completion of project
