As a Project Engineer, you will be responsible for coordination of project plans, contractual arrangements, schedules, activities, and milestones in accordance with the established policies, procedures, systems, and requirements approved by Worley. Supervises project personnel through subordinate leaders. Bridges the technical gap between the Project Manager and Engineers. Often functions as assistant project manager with an engineering background. Ascertains that engineering work is done according to plan by helping with design interpretation. Reviews bill of materials/project schedules/forecasts for accuracy. This role would apply to those with an engineering background.

Responsibilities:

We’re looking for a Project Engineer to join our Wagerup team.

The role responsibilities include:

  • Understands and embraces Life, maintains HSE focus within the team to ensure HSE requirements are included in design and procurement.
  • Demonstrates full commitment to all health and safety matters and provides safety management to project team and follows Worley risk management procedures.
  • Defines and selects team required to deliver scope of work and be effective at manage team to accomplish goals for the project including scope, schedule, productivity and budget targets.
  • Keeps team members informed about project status and key performance indicators and have to oversees, motivates and monitors the performance of the team, ensuring quality and timeliness of assignments and roles, and addresses any performance gaps.
  • Understands Worley established procedures, methods and tools for project technical coordination and ensures Worley approved systems, processes & tools are deployed and complied with on the project.
  • Applies knowledge of all aspects of project engineering to oversee successful technical coordination.
  • Ensures design team is aware and complying with customer Basis of Design and applicable codes and regulations.
  • Demonstrated understanding of engineering project delivery workflow and coordination.
  • Applies basic knowledge and understanding of customer contract to the oversight and management of the project and need to have general understanding of cost, schedule and estimating propositions.
  • Prepares standard project control requirements and keep on tracks cost and schedule and uses analytical skill to forecast trends.
  • Ensures proper change control processes are understood and used by the project team, and manages to translates contract requirements for project scope into Worley scope of services and deliverables.
  • Ensures project schedules and resource plans are developed and utilized in managing the project tasks and develops action plans to address project tasks and issues.
  • Manages execution, coordination, and implements regular reviews/controls to track project progress.
  • Basic understanding of Project Control Reports and identified problem areas.
  • Promotes Value Creation and Sustainable Solutions purposes for project and clearly communicates technical and coordination requirements for the project.
  • As technical customer interface, pro-actively addresses technical coordination issues. Need to understand the customer’s key drivers (KPIs).
  • Keeps all stakeholders informed of project technical status and try to creates an environment for open communication and collaboration, with this practise establishes good working relationship with customer technical counterpart and establishes relationships with external vendors and suppliers as well.
  • Develops a relationship of trust and respect with ability to discuss project progress, challenges and issues in a transparent manner along with identifies potential technical risks and effectively develops risk mitigation, contingency and resolution plans.
