With the world’s widest portfolio and service network, we – Wärtsilians - deliver efficient, safe and sustainable integrated products and solutions to enhance the business of our customers. The opportunities presented through digitalisation and new technologies are offering a new era of shipping. Did you know that shipping is the world’s most efficient mode of transportation and that approximately 80% of world trade is carried by sea?
We want to change the course towards an interconnected and cleaner maritime future and are constantly on the lookout for future-oriented talent to join our team and to work towards enabling sustainable societies through innovation in technology and services - together. Are you ready to jump onboard?
We are now looking for a talented Project Engineer to join our team in Wärtsilä Fleet Optimization. This full-time, permanent position offers the chance to work in an international environment alongside a talented and supportive team. We pride ourselves on our strong culture of collaboration and provide excellent opportunities for professional growth.
While Helsinki is our preferred location, we are open to other locations within Finland for the right candidate. We also offer the flexibility of hybrid work. Join us for rewarding work, professional development, and the nicest colleagues you’ll ever meet.

  • Supporting colleagues with technical aspects of our delivery such as system configuration and troubleshooting.
  • Preparing software configuration to allow for project delivery (Linux-based OS)
  • Checking data quality and system configurations to allow for smooth project handover to support teams.

YOU WILL SHINE IN THIS ROLE, WHEN YOU HAVE:

  • At least Bachelor’s degree in automation, electricity or equivalent
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in technical commissioning in similar data collection systems
  • Experience in text-based operating systems (for example Linux or Unix)

  • Capability to manage multiple customer delivery projects and genuine team player skills
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills
  • Experience from the maritime industry is preferred but not mandatory
  • Fluent in both spoken and written English.
  • Experience in the maritime industry is highly valued.
