POSITION SUMMARY
The Project Engineering Co-op student will assist Project Engineers and Project Engineering Designers in developing design concepts and preparing engineering reports, calculations, specifications, and drawings for refrigeration construction projects.
REQUIRED PROFESSIONAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
- General knowledge of engineering principles including thermodynamics and fluid dynamics
- Aptitude to learn and develop mechanical design skills and learn design software
- Exposure to REVIT, AutoCAD, and Solidworks an asset
- Previous co-op terms in refrigeration, construction, or piping design an asset
- Excellent verbal and written communication
- Team player
- Able to work with supervision and implement feedback efficiently and effectively
Responsibilities:
- Assist Project Engineers and Designers in the review, analysis and management of HVAC, refrigeration, and plumbing design for construction projects
- Assist Project Engineers and Designers in the assessment and selection of equipment and materials appropriate for construction projects
- Support Project Engineers and Designers in the management of construction projects with internal and external parties (customers, consultants, vendors, subcontractors, various CIMCO departments) to keep projects on-time and on-budget
- Support the drafting and design of engineering documentation (construction drawings, design schematics, etc.)
