Responsibilities:
ABOUT THE ROLE:
Reporting to the Systems Engineering Manager, you will lead a product development team alongside the Project Manager that focuses on the metal detector product definition, systems, delivery and technical management of the project.
YOU WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR:
- Providing clear direction to the project team on what milestones are to be delivered and when.
- Managing the systems development process so that engineering requirements are communicated to the team and verification and validation is conducted to qualify the product into production.
- Coordinating the development of prototypes and tests to evaluate the product in accordance with engineering requirements.
- Providing sufficient external field-testing coverage that validates and verifies the product during development.
- Managing internal relationships (Domain Leads, Marketing Team) and external relationships (customers, suppliers, sub-contractors, sales reps).
TO BE SUCCESSFUL FOR THIS ROLE YOU WILL HAVE:
- Ideally a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (electronics, software, mechanical, electrical).
- Exposure to multi-disciplinary engineering environments.
- Experience in all aspects of the Systems Development Lifecycle.
- Proven experience working in a senior engineering role.
- Experience in consumer product engineering and product realisation environments ideally within the manufacturing industry (however this is not mandatory).
- Strong analytical and proactive problem-solving skills in order to make decisive decisions that advance projects.
- Able to supervise / mentor / coach engineering staff and cross-functional teams to achieve targets and inspire individual commitment in the pursuit of excellence.
- Able to negotiate with and influence internal and/or external stakeholders in a way which generates business benefit whilst maintaining key relationships.
- Confluence & Jira experience would be highly regarded.
