JOB SUMMARY
Overview: The Project Estimator / Coordinator plays a crucial role in the operational efficiency of the fabrication shop. This position is responsible for managing office tasks, coordinating with various departments, and preparing accurate estimates for welding and fabrication projects. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a solid understanding of welding and fabrication processes.
SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum of three years of experience in estimating within the welding or fabrication industry.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) is essential; familiarity with CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks or AutoCAD) is an asset.
- Knowledge of welding processes, metal fabrication techniques, blueprint reading, Is an asset.
- Strong organizational skills with an ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.

Responsibilities:
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications to determine pricing on incoming jobs
- Collaborate with project managers to estimate Fabrication costs and timelines.
- Assist in project management tasks including negotiating project details and coordinating with other trades.
- Utilize software tools to help schedule and quote
- Source materials from suppliers and gather quotes for necessary components required for projects
- Collect and analyze project specifications, drawings, and requirements to prepare detailed estimates for welding and fabrication jobs.
