Description:
EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum 3 years of experience as a production geologist in an open pit environment
- Bachelor’s degree in Geology with ideally a master’s degree in the earth science discipline
- Registered or eligible to register with PGO Ontario as P.Geo
- Must possess a valid class 5 Drivers’s license with a clean record
- Experience using MineSight, Leapfrog and acQuire
- Must have experience in data analysis, statistics, 3D interpretation and block modelling
- Willingness to travel 50% to British Colombia for the first year and up to 20% in the Americas the following years

Responsibilities:
PURPOSE OF ROLE:
The purpose of this role is to provide technical support for mineral resources and reserve estimation models to limit business risk
ROLE ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Maintain effective communication between the mines or project teams located in different business units (i.e. Canada, Peru, USA) and the corporate head office.
- Develop, maintain and conduct audit process of BU reserve & resource statements
- Manage, report, and analyze reserves reconciliation data as it relates to mining recovery and regulatory reporting
- Support short-term and hybrid block modeling
- Support production geologists by reviewing areas of concern and providing geological interpretations to correct model issues
- Support highwall mapping, logging, sampling, and other daily operations
- Provide input and recommend continuous improvement of operational practices taking into account ‘industry best practice,’ changes in international standards and changes in the business environment which demand proactive action plans
- Support merger and acquisition efforts in the areas of geological and mining
- Identify risks and opportunities in assigned projects
