DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION


  • Samaritan Health Plans (SHP) operates a portfolio of health plan products under several different legal structures: InterCommunity Health Plans, Inc. (IHN) is designated as a regional Coordinated Care Organization (CCO) for Medicaid beneficiaries; Samaritan Health Plans, Inc. offers Medicare Advantage, Commercial Large Group, and Commercial Large Group PPO and EPO plans; SHP is also the third-party administrator for Samaritan Health Services’ self-funded employee health benefit plan. As part of an Integrated Delivery System, Samaritan Health Plans is strategically and operationally aligned with Samaritan Health Services’ mission of Building Healthier Communities Together.

EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION/QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s Degree in an Information Technology, Business or Product Development related field; or equivalent experience required.
  • Three (3) years recent experience in a role providing technical services, business solutions, and/or product development required.
  • Experience in coordinating large projects and/or business system implementations required.
  • Experience in a healthcare or insurance setting preferred.

  • Information Systems / Technical Literacy: Ability to understand technical needs and components within projects. An understanding of how Information Technology impacts Samaritan’s business model. Basic understanding of software development lifecycles, application and appliance deployments, infrastructure, and networks.
  • System Thinking: Ability to understand how projects interact across multi-disciplinary departments. Ability to understand, communicate and facilitate the needs across the system and not focus on a single area.
  • Communication: Ability to communicate at all levels of the organization, both written and verbal.
  • Drive for Results: Ability to help define what “done” is and focus on driving to completion. Ability to keep teams and stakeholders moving towards a goal while listening to their needs and keeping them involved. Ability to communicate what is normal operational requests versus a project.

  • Self-Management: Ability to coordinate multiple tasks and projects with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities:


  • Serves as an SHP project intake consultant to document preliminary resource requirement estimations in support of Samaritan’s enterprise project governance submission process. Provides initial analysis of technical requirements and business requirements for project implementations. Develops and manages efforts to gather resource utilization metrics and improve future technical/business resource estimations. Assists with ongoing process improvement efforts for project resourcing, project requirements and end-to-end estimation of business impact. Works with Executive Sponsor and Project Owner in a consultative manner to document and communicate project requirement needs to the Executive Governance Process and the PMO.
