Description:
QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS:
- Degree or Diploma in Health Informatics (preferred), Computer Science, Engineering, Business Administration and/or related field or a combination of education and experience will be considered
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or progression towards PMP is an asset
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a Project Manager and/or Senior Business Analyst role, with a minimum 2 years of experience leading projects with increasing complexity and scope is an asset
- 3-5 years of related experience, preferably in implementation and/or support of clinical information systems in a hospital setting.
- Working knowledge of organizational information systems such as Accuro, OceanMD, Sunnycare and Quadramed are required.
- Prior experience supporting a fast paced outpatient clinic setting with patients preferred
- Good knowledge of interface technologies and standards
- Good knowledge of project management and applicable healthcare industry experience
- Experience with information systems architectures in a healthcare setting is an asset
- Experience with vendor and team relations with excellent presentation, communication, change management and technical (SDLC) writing skills
- Demonstrated ability to balance multiple tasks, projects with tight timeframes, strict budgets and diverse stakeholder groups effectively
- Excellent analytical and resolution skills and ability to work effectively with technical & business users
- Proven ability to understand business requirements and convert them to functional specifications
- Proven ability to create technical and functional documentation
- Must have excellent written and oral communication skills and exceptional interpersonal skills and work effectively with all levels of the team/management
- Experience with MS Office with proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, Project and Visio
- Good understanding of ambulatory EMR data and schema standards and concepts
- Good understanding of database design, implementation, troubleshooting and maintenance
Responsibilities:
SUMMARY OF DUTIES:
The primary responsibility of the Project Leader II is as a project leader and application administrator for ambulatory electronic medical record (EMR) systems for the Hurvitz Brain Sciences Program, Barzakay Clinic. This role includes the delivery, configuration and maintenance for Sunnybrook clinic ambulatory vendor EMR systems. This position requires contact with clinicians, managers, project teams, developers, system administrators, technical services and other IS staff.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Act as an application administrator resource to ambulatory electronic medical record (EMR) systems for the Hurvitz Brain Sciences Program, Barzakay Clinic.
- Responsible for documenting and achieving EMR project mandates, objectives and deliverables through management of EMR projects at Sunnybrook
- Establish and implement standards for EMR documentation including interfaces
- Establish and implement processes for new and existing interfaces – internal and external
- Engage with EMR application stakeholders and vendor to maintain consistent and current software versions, interfaces, documentation, and architecture
- Participate as a key member of EMR governance, provide guidance and adhere to established channels for change and new implementations (CAB, ASRB)
- Provide support and guidance for interfaces with systems of external organizations such as OH, NT OHT, etc.
- Establish and maintain a central repository of knowledge of EMR workflows, interfaces, methodologies, and architecture
- Maintain up to date EMR documentation
- Develop detailed project work plans, schedules, project budget estimates, resource plans, terms of reference, charter and role/task definitions and status reports
- Lead project team, which may consist of vendor, client and internal resources, to achieve project deliverables
- Adhere to project and change control procedures to manage project scope and SDLC requirements for documentation, delivery, review and approvals
- Develop and maintain system architecture documentation, including system inter-dependencies and workflows
- Work with teams to map specifications and assist with prototype designs
- Define software functional and design requirements for the users and development team based on interface rules, analysis and system and database design
- Coordinate and track the efforts of working groups, committees, development team and vendors. Work to keep projects on track so that they are completed within the agreed time parameters
- Identify, resolve or escalate issues as raised with team members, users, and vendors
- Ad hoc analysis, design, development, QA, implementation and support as required
- Other duties as required.
