Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) is looking for a Project Management Specialist (Experienced or Senior) to support the Strategy and Integration 787 Fulfillment Team based out of Charleston, South Carolina.
Successful candidates will support both Fulfillment and Production facing projects across the 787 program and partner with BCA focals. The ideal candidate will work well with a myriad of talent across all organizations and service providers to achieve both tactical short term and strategic long term goals. The selected candidate will have a history of documented successes as a project manager and will take on additional responsibilities within the team required to run the business.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Independently develops, coordinates, integrates, analyzes, and maintains an integrated plan and schedule to meet program and/or project requirements in accordance with project management industry standards.
  • Performs studies, analysis (trend, variance, impact), risk assessments to determine impacts, and constraints involving product development, production rates, process improvement, program initiatives.
  • Creates schedule, reports, metrics, change activity, communicates and updates plan regularly throughout lifecycle of program or project.
  • Works to improve project management processes, business systems, and implement best practices that support project decision makers.
  • Directs all phases of projects or subsystems of major projects from inception through completion.
  • Acts as primary project contact to establish key stakeholder requirements and project objectives.
  • Assists customers to develop performance recovery plan and ensure all project control systems are in place to support ongoing support to stakeholders.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):

  • 3+ years of experience in managing a portfolio of projects
  • 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing or manufacturing support environment
  • 3+ years of experience in developing and delivering presentations to senior leaders

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (DESIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):

  • 5+ years related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Bachelors degree or higher

TYPICAL EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

Experienced (Level 3): Education/experience typically acquired through advanced education (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 10 or more years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. Master+8 years’ related work experience, 14 years’ related work experience, etc.).
Senior (Level 4): Education/experience typically acquired through advanced education (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 10 or more years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. Master+8 years’ related work experience, 14 years’ related work experience, etc.).
