WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

ACML is actively seeking a Project Manager located in Toronto, ON whose main responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Manage projects involving effective coordination and liaison with many internal and external stakeholders – including other areas of the Capital Projects Group, Client, other ACML departments, utilities, municipalities, Authorities Having Jurisdiction, etc.
  • Provide reports to multiple stakeholders and Senior Management, including schedule management, cost management, stakeholder management, risk management, design and engineering, quality, safety, document control, flagging, corridor access, etc.
  • Estimate engineering, construction and contingency costs, and forecast time frames for implementation and funding expenditures, including monitoring and updates through the use of advanced financial/project management software.
  • Identify, monitor, mitigate, and escalate issues that can potentially put the success of the project at risk
  • Develop a budget report, and manage multiple complex projects throughout the project management lifecycle within corporate commitments of budget, schedule, risk, safety, quality, etc.
  • Coordinate the tender and award of contracts, property requests for acquisitions, purchase orders, change orders for supply/construction contracts and addenda for consultant assignments.
  • Review and evaluate consultant studies, reports, design proposals, specifications and contract documents for compliance with ACML policies, procedures and standards, and any other applicable industry guidelines or practices
  • Establishes processes and standard documents used in implementation of capital projects, from design to occupancy, using a project development system; manages strategic/conceptual planning of capital projects by working with internal/external stakeholders, consultants and Client re: project plans, progress, status and work plan; assists Project Managers to meet capital project deadlines; implements corrective actions as required to meet project deadlines.
  • Establishes detailed project charters, plans and objectives outlining timelines/project deliverables; assists with project team structure by gathering input from stakeholders and identifying needs and skills required; establishes project plan according to project methodologies ensuring successful/ coordinated completion of project components; facilitates consensus with stakeholders and ensures readiness for project implementation; ensures contracts are developed and maintained according to department standards for procurements.
  • Develops effective processes to assess project risks, identifies risk mitigation strategies and monitors risk throughout project life cycle; oversees risk management initiatives to ensure proper risk control of assigned capital projects; establishes ongoing support for initiatives; keeps stakeholders aware of project status and ensures effective communication channels in place.
  • Manages professional development of maintenance staff through formal assessment of training needs and development of training plans; participates in human resource matters as required.
  • Chairs regular meetings with ACML Management team to monitor projects/programs, and provide reports to Senior Management
