THE OPPORTUNITY:
KBR Mission IT and Security Solutions (MITSS), is a leader in Defence Mission Planning System development and integration. MITSS uniquely couple’s aviation mission planning environments, operational and engineering support, training, agile software development, and systems implementation, enhancing current Defence capabilities while designing the future military Mission Planning Environments.
The Army Aviation Mission Planning Systems (AAMPS) Project Manager will be working on cutting edge technology for the deployment of secure government systems in support of Defence based in Brisbane.
KBR MITSS is currently looking for a highly driven Project Manager to join an agile network development team working on technology for the deployment of secure systems in support of Defence for the Army Aviation Mission Planning Systems (AAMPS) required for both current and future Australian Defence Force capabilities.
The AAMPS Project Manager will apply their Project Management skills for the development, integration, and deployment of security accredited ICT systems. As part of a pro-active, hands-on technical team, you will work closely with other project managers and key client stakeholders.
Due to the nature of MITSS work, all applicants must have the ability to obtain a minimum of NV1 Security Clearance (usually only granted to Australian Citizens).
Note: As a Defence security clearance is required for this role, applicants must be Australian citizens. International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) is applicable and as such, your nationality may be a factor in determining your suitability for this role.
Responsibilities:
The key responsibilities of the role will include, but is not limited to:
- Manage and execute project operations and activities
- Perform the role of Manager of a small team of highly skilled technical professionals
- Mentor, coach and conduct employee performance appraisals for assigned personnel
- Plan, budget, organise and control AAMPS project for KBR MITSS
- Meet project scope, schedule, and budget plans
- Assist in workforce planning in support of current projects
- Customer and stakeholder engagement
- Build and maintain strong relationships at all levels
- Act with a degree of autonomy and personal accountability for team outcomes
- Attend relevant customer meetings as required
- Foster a positive work environment that is professional, dynamic and innovative
- Report on project status through Project Management Review meetings with Customer as well as provide technical progress updates on project deliverables.
