Balco is seeking a skilled and proactive Project Manager to oversee multiple construction projects across the UK and. This role is pivotal in ensuring projects are delivered safely, within set timelines, budget, and quality standards, while upholding the highest level of client satisfaction.
In this role, you will work closely with sales staff, assisting with technical insights for new prospects. You’ll initiate site surveys and, alongside structural and design engineers, drive both technical and financial project planning. A critical part of your responsibilities includes managing the design team to align client expectations with internal targets and coordinating a ready supply chain for seamless project commencement on-site.
Health & Safety will be at the forefront of your responsibilities. You will be accountable for maintaining project-specific risk assessments and method statements (RAMS), ensuring all operations align with the highest safety standards. Regular liaison with Balco’s internal support functions, including production and logistics, is essential to keep projects moving smoothly and in line with client schedules.
Utilising Balco’s IT system, you’ll monitor project costs closely, conduct financial reviews, and attend monthly operational meetings to report on project progress, forecast budgets, and plan ahead. Compliance with project agreements is essential, and you will play a key role in preparing and submitting interim applications for payment to the client’s project team.
KEY REQUIREMENTS:
To thrive in this role, you must possess:
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Project, MS Office (Word & Excel), and effective organisational skills.
- Excellent planning and communication skills.
- Financial and commercial awareness, with an ability to manage costs effectively.
- An understanding of current building and Health & Safety legislation, and experience in metalwork construction.
- A professional, positive approach, strong problem-solving skills, and a valid UK driving license.
